Crop Progress

The Crop Progress Report was released on July 19, 2021.
Corn
The report showed that 56% of the corn is at silking stage by July 18, 2021 (up from 26% last week).  This compares to the 5 year average of 52% and 55% as of July 18, 2020.

The report showed that 8% of the corn is at dough state by July 18, 2021 (up from 3% last week).  This compares to the 5 year average of 7% and 8% as of July 18, 2020.

The report showed that 65% of the corn is rated Good-Excellent (compared to 65% last week and 69% as of July 18, 2020).
Soybeans
The report showed that 63% of the soybeans are blooming by July 18, 2021 (up from 46% last week).  This compares to the 5 year average of 57% and 62% as of July 18, 2020.

The report showed that 23% of the soybeans are setting pods by July 18, 2021 (up from 10% last week).  This compares to the 5 year average of 21% and 23% as of July 18, 2020.

The report showed that 60% of the soybeans is rated Good-Excellent (compared to 59% last week and 69% as of July 18, 2020).
Wheat
The report showed that 73% of the wheat has been harvested by July 18, 2021 (up from 59% last week).  This compares to the 5 year average of 74% and 73% as of July 18, 2020.
Topsoil Moisture Condition
The report showed that 39% of the topsoil in 48 States is considered Very short or Short in moisture as of July 18, 2021.  This compares to 39% recorded last week and compares to 41% of topsoil in 48 States considered very short or short in moisture as of July 18, 2020.

The report showed that 61% of the topsoil in 48 States is considered Adequate or Surplus in moisture as of July 18, 2021.  This compares to 61% recorded last week and 60% of topsoil in 48 States considered Adequate or Surplus in moisture as of July 18, 2020.
