Track portfolio progress against your renewed plan, alongside income, expenses and priorities.

Portfolio value · $ millions

A plan renewed in 2024, with portfolio values tracked against itThe original 2020 plan begins at 2.5 million and rises gradually. The renewed 2024 plan starts at the recorded example portfolio value of 3.6 million in 2024 and rises at a steeper slope. Recorded example values reach 4.15 million in 2025 and 4.6 million in 2026, above the renewed plan's 3.95 and 4.3 million. Light-blue shading marks that difference only during the recorded period. Frequently asked questions

Questions about
working together.

Who do you work with?

We work with families, business owners, founders, executives, physicians and people navigating life transitions. Their investment decisions often overlap with business, tax or family decisions. Discretionary portfolio management typically starts at $200,000; we also consider the complexity of your situation and where we can help.

Are portfolios customized?

Yes. Holdings and position sizes reflect your goals, other investments and cash needs. Individual equities and Canadian investment-grade corporate bonds form the core, with other investments considered where appropriate.

Can you work with my existing advisers?

Yes. We coordinate with the advisers involved in your situation, including your accountant, lawyer and banking advisers. We discuss how their advice affects your financial plan and investments.

Is financial planning included?

Yes. You receive a written financial plan as part of our investment-management relationship. We update it as your circumstances and priorities change, and periodically as needed. We do not offer planning-only engagements.

How are your fees determined, and what is included?

Our management fee is based on the assets we manage and reflects your portfolio and the level of service involved. It includes investment management, financial planning and coordination.

Eligible family accounts are considered together for pricing, while each family member’s account information remains private. Some third-party investments, including ETFs and alternative funds, carry additional fees and expenses. We explain your fee arrangement and applicable investment costs before you decide to work with us.

Who helps with insurance, and how are they paid?

We work with specialized BMO Private Wealth insurance advisers to review coverage and work through underwriting and implementation. Insurance advisers receive commissions from the insurer when a policy is placed, separate from our investment-management fee. Policy premiums are paid by the client.

What happens in the first conversation?

We begin with a 30–60 minute conversation about your situation, the decisions you are considering and where we could help. There is no commitment. We use the conversation to decide whether we are a good fit for each other.

Talk through your
next decision.

Tell us what you’re considering, and we’ll discuss how our team could help.
