BMO Nesbitt Burns
65, rue Belvedere Nord
Luc founded his practice in 1990, back when the standard was to brokers who executed their clients’ orders. He quickly became aware of people’s need to be taken charge of by a trustworthy person and directed his efforts towards the development of a holistic approach based on wealth management.
The development of long term relationships is a priority for Luc, equally with his clients and team members. He is the advisor to the 3rd generation of some of the families that he serves. He also adopted certain measures to ensure the sustainability of his business, including the development of a cohesive team that is able to grow in strength and effectiveness.
Luc is a man of commitment and his presence is greatly felt in the community. He was Campaign president for the United Way, Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Townships Chartered Accountants, as well as Chairman of the Board of the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra (OSS). As president of the Sherbrooke Athletics Club, he also organized the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships in July 2006, for which he was named "Executive of the Year" by the Quebec Athletics Federation at their 2006 Gala Athlétas and Gala Sports Québec.
Furthermore, on September 17th 2006, he was appointed Honorary Lieutenant Colonel for the 35 Signal Regiment, a Primary Reserve unit of the Canadian Armed Forces. Since 2013, he is involved in the Organizing Committee of the Fondation du CHUS’ Gourmet Dinner and the BRP/Cascades yearly golf tournament. He is also a Board Member of the Eastern Townships Community Foundation’s Investment Committee and a member of Anges Québec.
In 2001, Luc received the CALCULARE award from the Eastern Townships Chartered Accountants in recognition of his commitment and professional dedication. In 2006 he was awarded the Mérite Estrien by the newspaper La Tribune, an award given to a person recognized in the community of Sherbrooke for his exploits, achievements or his involvement in the community. In 2012 he was named "2011 Advisor Emeritus" by the Investment Executive newspaper, a career award given annually to an advisor from Quebec who has worked in this business for over 20 years and who has impacted the financial industry by his practice, skills and by his presence.
He is also member of BMO Nesbitt Burns’ prestigious « Chairman’s Council », a national club reserved to the firm’s 50 top advisors who maintain high performance standards by driving business and by creating an exceptional client experience. In 2014, he was awarded with the title of Fellow of the Order of the Chartered Professional Accountants, designated by the initials FCPA, formally recognizing those members who have rendered outstanding services to the profession, or whose achievements in their careers or in the community have earned them distinction and brought honor to the profession.
While completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree at McGill University (with a major in Finance and a minor in Environment), Geneviève works with the group on several projects until 2013, when she officially joins the team as an Associate Wealth Advisor.
Geneviève is a passionate and professional person who quickly wins people’s trust. In addition to providing a high-level wealth management advice, she joins Luc in the business development. Her unique expertise in responsible investment and behavioral finance is attracting increasing interest and adds value to the team.
Her contribution extends not only to her role as manager. The year 2015 is a pivotal year for her and for the team, as she takes in charge the repositioning of the group's image, which materializes in April 2015. It is then renamed under the name of Blanchard Group-Wealth Adviosry. This year also marks the beginning of Ölistik, an organic vegetable farm, which she founded with her husband Antoine. This professional experience gives her an entrepreneurial perspective that is highly appreciated by business owners among our clients.
