Where appropriate, insurance-based strategies are implemented to provide tax sheltered investment accumulation, mitigate financial risk, create tax-efficient income, and reduce investment and estate taxes.
Trust & Estate Manager
Irit is responsible for providing estate and trust planning support to our high net worth clients. As part of the Wealth Planning Expertise Team, and in her capacity as estate and trust planning in-house counsel, Irit reviews the goals and needs of our high net worth clients. Irit has extensive experience in Will and trust interpretation, the preparation of Wills, powers of attorney and trusts and in assisting clients with the implementation of a variety of estate planning strategies emphasizing key factors such as family dynamics, tax and business considerations, and capacity and fiduciary issues. Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Irit was employed by a major Toronto law firm. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Statutory Review, Capacity Law Working Group sub-committees of the Ontario Bar Association and an assistant editor of the Ontario Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Section newsletter Deadbeat.
Head of Tax
John is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) from Queen's University. Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, John was employed by a large, international accounting firm as a senior member of the Toronto High Net Worth tax practice. John’s areas of expertise include personal tax, and financial and estate planning for High Net Worth individuals, executives, and entrepreneurs. John has also assisted in the design and execution of executive compensation plans and has experience in a wide range of issues concerning the taxation of individuals, corporations, trusts and partnerships.
Manager, US Tax
Linda is responsible Canadian and U.S. tax planning support. Linda is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Linda was a member of a global tax team at a large consulting firm where she assisted individuals in understanding the Canadian, U.S. and international tax implications of their various forms of compensation. Prior to that, she was employed by a large, international accounting firm in their International Assignment Services and Small Business tax groups. Linda has expertise in U.S. personal tax matters and can provide guidance on cross-border personal income tax issues. In her previous role, Linda was also involved in the design and execution of global executive compensation and share plans.
| Paul Larsh, Sales Assitant
Paul joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2016 as a Sales Assistant. Prior to joining Nesbitt, Paul worked in Trade Settlements at RBC Capital Markets. Paul holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Applied Economics from Carleton University, and is currently working towards the CFA designation.

Jim brings together the knowledge and experience of our in-house tax and estate professionals. Jim works with advisors and their clients to develop sound wealth management plans. He provides support and direction on complex issues such as retirement planning, tax planning, cash management, estate and gift planning, business succession, transition planning and philanthropy.
