Meet The Team

As a discretionary portfolio manager Christopher (Chris) spends his time researching and constructing portfolios for both retail and institutional clients in and around Winnipeg. His “client-first” approach to private wealth keeps his relationships strong and focused, while his continued success in the wealth advisory business has seen him rise to Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Wealth Advisor here at BMO Nesbitt Burns Winnipeg.

Chris joined the Winnipeg branch of BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2009, after a number of years at various other wealth management and private investment firms. He holds a Business Administration Diploma (major in marketing), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, and Discretionary Portfolio Manager designation. In 2021 he also became a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®), achieving CSI’s highest credential available.

When Chris is not busy researching and managing investment strategies and wealth preservation, he enjoys spending time with his wife Christine, son Hunter and daughter Isla. In his off hours, he enjoys golf, playing guitar with other musicians and fishing at his cabin.

Throughout his career as a private asset manager, Dan has worked with high-net-worth clients who require a detailed, professional approach to wealth management. Dan is responsible for managing client portfolios and developing unique investment strategies that help preserve family wealth.

Dan completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1993 and began his career in private wealth as an Associate Investment Advisor in 1995. He joined the Winnipeg office of BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor in October of 2011 and successfully grew his practice until joining The Sutton-Thiessen-Stiver Wealth Group in 2015. He obtained his designation as a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) in 2013, allowing for discretionary portfolio management of accounts for retail and institutional clients, and his Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®) in 2018.

Based in Winnipeg, Dan and his wife, Lisa, like to spend time outside with their Chocolate Lab, Lucy. He is also a proud Uncle who enjoys taking in the sports and school activities of niece Rhyan, and nephews Josh and Zac.

Over the course of Jack's career one investment principle has always held true—own good quality businesses! As one of Winnipeg’s leading Senior Investment Advisor and Senior Wealth Advisors, Jack's goal is to ensure clients know what they own, why they own it, and offer investment strategies to help grow their portfolios. By delivering excellent customer service and advice, Jack has had the opportunity to provide private wealth management services to many prominent families in Winnipeg, and beyond—some encompassing 2nd and 3rd generations.

Jack began his career as a private investment manager in 1973, working in various roles across Western Canada before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns Winnipeg in 1993.

When Jack is not spending his time researching investment opportunities or capital management (which is hardly ever), you will find him cracking jokes around the office. Jack resides in Winnipeg and is a proud father of three boys.

As a Certified Financial Planning (CFP®), Michael works with our clients developing personalized wealth plans and strategies to help our clients clarify and meet their goals. Through an in-depth discovery, analysis and implementation process Michael tries to uncover what is most important to our clients and how we can help them achieve those goals.

Michael began his career in the financial services industry as a Customer Service Representative with BMO Bank of Montreal after completing his B.A with the University of Winnipeg in 2009. In 2011 he transitioned into a new roll with BMO Nesbitt Burns and became an Investment Representative in 2012. In 2013 Michael joined The Sutton Thiessen Stiver Wealth Group and became an Associate Investment Advisor in 2014. In 2018, he obtained his CFP® designation through FP Canada and in 2025 he obtained his CIM® designation. Today, Michael is a Senior Wealth Associate and Financial Planner.

When not helping our clients reach their goals, you can find Michael relaxing with his wife Kristen, daughter Bradlee whom they welcomed in 2020, and their dog Lennox. As soon as the weather starts to warm up they all try to spend as much time as possible enjoying the family cottage near Kenora Ontario or firing up the backyard grill to host a BBQ for family and Friends.

As a female financial advisor and a member of the Brandon BMO Nesbitt Burns team Bethany brings a holistic approach to wealth management. Bethany prides herself on helping her clients achieve their financial goals by bringing a unique perspective and personalized approach, Success is not just about numbers; it is about your life, your dreams & your values.

Her commitment is to empower clients with personalized financial strategies that not only grow clients wealth, but also align with their aspirations and priorities. She draws on open communication, tailored solutions and a deep understanding of clients financial journey to ensure that they can confidently navigate their path to financial well-being today and in the future.

Bethany began her career in the financial industry with CIBC after moving to Brandon from the Okanagan in 2011. During her time there she served clients in many capacities, including working with high value clients and later on in a management capacity. In 2018, she shifted her focus to learning more about private wealth and investments when she took on an associate role with RBC Dominion Securities and then briefly with Edward Jones before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor in 2023.

When away from the office, Bethany and her partner, Colton, can be found chasing around their four boys, hiking with their three big dogs or lifting weights at the gym.

As a Private Banker, Nicole works exclusively with our clients to help integrate their banking, credit, and planning decisions with the investment strategies already being executed by their advisory team. Drawing on more than a decade of experience across treasury, commercial banking, and relationship‑management roles, Nicole brings a “client‑first” philosophy to every interaction - ensuring her advice is both strategic and deeply personalized.

Nicole joined BMO in 2016, building her career through progressive roles in financial services, business development, and most recently as a Portfolio Manager within Treasury & Payment Solutions. Her background in cash‑management strategy, credit solutions, and long‑term client engagement provides her with a balanced perspective on the complex financial needs of high net worth households and professionals.

When Nicole isn’t busy supporting clients, she enjoys spending time with her daughters, Charlotte and Lyla and their newest addition – a miniature dachshund named Rosie. She keeps active through running and golfing, and loves exploring the world whenever she has the opportunity.

Kathy is fully licensed and brings a wealth of expertise in both administrative and trading functions, making her an invaluable asset to our team. Her comprehensive understanding of operational processes ensures that client transactions are executed with precision and efficiency. Kathy’s proactive approach and attention to detail allow her to anticipate client needs, resolve issues swiftly, and deliver a seamless service experience. Whether supporting portfolio management or navigating complex account logistics, she consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence that enhances the overall client relationship.​

Kathy began her career at Rice Financial in Winnipeg before moving to Ottawa in 2000 to join BMO Nesbitt Burns. She held various senior roles, including Branch Compliance Officer and Senior Client Service Associate, where she worked directly with clients and supported investment advisors. ​

Outside the office, Kathy is passionate about the arts—especially live music—and enjoys traveling the world to see her favourite bands.

A key member of the Winnipeg BMO Nesbitt Burns team, Kim is responsible for all administrative duties. This includes account opening, transaction processing and all other customer service-related inquiries to ensure the needs of our wealth management clients are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.

Kim began her career in the private investments industry in 1991, working at various financial planning firms, before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2008.

Outside work hours, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. In the summer, she enjoys spending time outside, taking long walks with their beagle Oreo, cycling, and going to the beaches around Lake Winnipeg.

Matthew Zawasky supports the daily operations of the team with a focus on Client online support, account administration, and the efficient handling of service requests. His role is integral to maintaining a high standard of client care and ensuring operational precision.

He began his career in the financial services industry in early 2025 and is currently pursuing the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) to obtain Investment Representative (IR) licensing by year-end. Matthew’s commitment to professional development is matched by his dedication to delivering exceptional service to both clients and colleagues.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Matthew enjoys cooking, baking, officiating basketball, playing tennis, and traveling. He values time spent with his fiancée, Jane, and their Golden Retriever, Aussie—whether exploring the outdoors or relaxing at home.
