The Through Line: nvestor stamina was put to the test during the just ended third quarter with AI, inflation, triple-digit oil, rising bond yields and tariff/trade issues dominating the news cycle. On the bright side, corporate and consumer resilience were evident for anyone willing to look. Despite a narrative that shifted frequently, broader stock market indexes ended the period within striking distance of all-time highs and are still sporting double-digit gains year to date. We look back at the quarter, seeking clues for the months ahead.
