Why I Became an Investment Advisor: Andrew's Story
MSB Wealth - Jun 25, 2025
There is no single path to becoming an Investment Advisor, but for me it was driven by curiosity, challenge, and the relationships I've built along the way. It's a career that never stands still and that exactly why I love it.
I think to do this business well you have to love what you are doing. This is not a 9 – 5 job and you always have to be reading and listening to the news, reports and now politics. There always seems to be a challenge and it continues to evolve as the markets evolve, how the client's needs change. There is always something new to figure out.
Business wise I have always been curious how financial systems work, solving problems, analyzing real world issues and the effect on investing. Personally I like the fact I have great clients, many of which I have long relationships with now. I appreciate the intellectual challenge - no two days are the same, and the learning never stops.
Advisor business is unique in that every advisor runs his practice a little bit different even within the same firm. I choose Nesbitt Burns originally because of all the bank owned brokerages, it was the most entrepreneurial. I was very lucky to have a great mentor, Alison Keene.
