As lead Portfolio Manager, Jason guides the team’s investment process and builds enduring client relationships grounded in trust, accountability, and sound judgment. He is committed to protecting the wealth clients have worked hard to create while helping them make thoughtful decisions that support their families, businesses, and long-term goals.
Jason brings a distinctive combination of investment, accounting, and executive experience to his work. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CA, CPA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), and licensed Portfolio Manager in Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan. Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Jason served in senior financial leadership positions, including Corporate Controller and Vice President, with a publicly listed oil and gas producer and a Calgary-based private oilfield services company. This experience gives him a practical understanding of the opportunities and complexities faced by business owners, executives, and their families.
Outside the office, Jason and his wife, Lori, are actively involved in the lives of their three children and their Calgary community. With all three children involved in competitive sports, including baseball, volleyball, and basketball, Jason spends much of his time travelling to support their pursuits.

Devin supports clients’ long-term financial decision-making through clear, thoughtful planning and disciplined investment management. He leads the team’s investment research and draws on a global perspective to build diversified portfolios aligned with each client’s goals. As a Portfolio Manager, Devin is committed to providing sound advice, conducting rigorous analysis, and acting in the best interests of the families and individuals the team serves.
Devin holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary. He also studied International Business at the London School and Political Science (LSE). Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2015, Devin advised corporate and institutional clients as an investment banker at FirstEnergy Capital and worked directly with T. Boone Pickens as an Investment Analyst at BP Capital, an energy-focused hedge fund and private equity firm in Dallas. These experiences continue to inform the analytical discipline and broad market perspective he brings to clients.
Outside the office, Devin and his wife, Laura, enjoy raising their two young children in Calgary. Together, they compete in team cattle penning across Western Canada, including at the Calgary Stampede and Canadian National Championships. Devin is also an avid whisky collector and enthusiast, and volunteers alongside members of the Armstrong Antony team at The Mustard Seed.
Ross Slaneff, CFA

Ross drives the team’s financial planning process, helping clients bring clarity and structure to the decisions that shape their financial futures. He also contributes to investment research and builds trusted client relationships through a thoughtful, personalized approach. With experience across corporate finance, banking, and wealth management, Ross helps clients connect investment strategies with the personal goals and priorities that matter most to them.
Ross is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Charterholder with more than ten years of experience in corporate finance, business development, personal and corporate banking, and wealth management. He graduated summa cum laude from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance, where he was a member of the Honors Student Association and Financial Management Society. Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Ross worked as a Senior Credit Analyst with BMO’s Corporate Finance Division, supporting acquisition financing for large automotive groups. He began his career as a Corporate Financial Analyst with Bridgestone Tire Corporation in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ross has called Calgary home with his wife, Emily, since 2015. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with Emily and their daughter, Ivy, as well as hiking, gardening, playing softball, and cooking for his family.
Nicola Koochin

Nicola leads the team’s client service operations and is committed to making every interaction feel comfortable, clear, and well coordinated. With a detailed, forward-thinking approach, she helps anticipate client needs, resolve requests efficiently, and ensure clients receive consistent support throughout their relationship with the team.
Nicola began her career in the wealth management industry in 2012 and joined the Armstrong Antony team in 2023. She has held progressively senior positions across client service, operations, and leadership, including serving as a Senior Manager within the Private Banking division of another financial institution. Her breadth of operational experience and dedication to personalized service help keep the team closely aligned with the needs of its clients.
Born and raised in Calgary, Nicola enjoys making the most of the city’s proximity to the mountains. In the summer, she can often be found golfing or riding her bike, while winter brings time on the ski hill. Nicola also loves travelling with her husband, Brian. Italy, particularly the Amalfi Coast, remains a favourite destination, and she is always interested in discovering where to explore next.
Karen Murdoch

Karen plays a central role in delivering a seamless and dependable client experience. She oversees account operations, client documentation, and the team’s regulatory and compliance functions, bringing exceptional care and precision to every responsibility. Her depth of industry knowledge, high personal standards, and emotional intelligence help ensure thoughtful, responsive service throughout every stage of the client relationship.
Karen joined the Armstrong Antony team in 2014 and has worked in the investment industry since 1993, including more than 20 years with BMO Nesbitt Burns. She has completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Professional Financial Planners Course through the Canadian Securities Institute. Karen also holds an Honours Bachelor of Music from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Church Music in Voice from Prairie Bible Institute.
Karen lives in Cremona with her husband and has a lifelong passion for music. She sings choral works by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Handel, and Bach with a Calgary choir and leads worship at her local church. Karen also loves travelling to destinations that combine relaxation, adventure, and history. Israel, Greece, and Hawaii among her most memorable journeys.

She works closely with clients and the broader team to address requests diligently, coordinate day-to-day needs, and identify practical solutions that strengthen service and streamline operations. Her meticulous attention to detail and genuine commitment to helping others ensure clients feel supported throughout their relationship with the team.
Natalia joined the Armstrong Antony team in 2025 following more than a decade in customer service. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the University of Saskatchewan and has completed both the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course. Her distinctive educational background, service experience, and thoughtful approach bring immense value to the group.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Calgary’s vibrant restaurant scene, curling with friends, and spending time with her cat, Peach.
