Minuk's Musings and Swifties

Richard Minuk - Nov 15, 2024

Taylor Swift is in Toronto and if you think this only matters to youngsters, then you are wrong.

You may be surprised to know that about a quarter of “Swifties” are baby boomers, according to Statista.com.

Taylor Swift’s Toronto concerts over the next two weeks are expected to boost the local economy by $282 million, $141 million of which is coming from tourists in town to see 1 of 6 concerts at the Rogers Centre.

The Sheraton near my office has set up a designated Taylor Swift zone for fans to get together, restaurants and bars are fully booked and downtown stores expect a major increase in activity.

Additional tax revenue is expected to be around $40 million according to CBC.

Here is the Rogers Centre wearing a Taylor Swift friendship bracelet that was exchanged from Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium – how nice.

According to Forbes, Taylor Swift’s net worth is $1.6 billion (USD), ahead of Rihanna ($1.4 billion), Madonna ($850 million) and Beyonce ($760 million).

So, how much are Taylor Swift tickets going for on Stubhub?

For Saturday’s show, the tickets range from this …

to this…

If you are one of the lucky ones with a ticket, enjoy the show!

Have a nice weekend,
