Bradley Goldhar

Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Advisor

Brad is the founder and senior member of The Goldhar Group and focuses on portfolio management, research and client service.  He is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Advisor of BMO Nesbitt Burns. Brad joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2002 after a 17 year career in investment banking in Toronto and London, England.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a Managing Director with HSBC Securities with responsibility for corporate clients in the media and telecom sectors.  He started his business career in 1985 at Wood Gundy (now CIBC World Markets) and during that tenure his focus was on corporate finance, debt and equity capital markets, Eurobond debt origination and privatizations.

Toronto-born and raised, Brad graduated with an undergraduate business degree at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, cum laude and followed this with his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Community involvement is very important to Brad and he was the International President of the Board of Trustees of the Israel Cancer Research Fund - the first Canadian to hold that position in the non-profit organization’s history.  He also interviews local high school students who have applied to the University of Pennsylvania and is thrilled when they are accepted.

Brad is married to Nathalie, a successful real estate representative and they have a son and daughter and a dog that gets way too much attention. He continues to play hockey, is an avid traveller and a rotisserie baseball enthusiast.

Norman Shiner

Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager

Norman Shiner is a senior member of The Goldhar Group and focuses on client service, portfolio management, and research.  He is an Investment Advisor and Associate Portfolio Manager of BMO Nesbitt Burns.

Norman joined The Goldhar Group of BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2013 after an eighteen year career in Institutional Equity Sales, and a three year period as Head of Business Development for a boutique money manager. Norman was responsible for the day to day coverage of some of Canada’s largest and most reputable institutional money managers as a Director of one of Canada’s leading investment banks as well as other bank owned and independent Bay Street firms. His focus was on Equities and he specialized in researching and recommending companies with attractive fundamentals and an enduring competitive advantage. Norman advised portfolio managers on research ideas, trade flows and execution, as well as IPOs and M&A transactions.  Over his career Norman has met with hundreds of North American CEOs representing companies in all sectors of the public markets.
 
Norman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Western Ontario, where he studied Political Science and Economics, and followed this with his MBA from the University of Toronto.
 
Norman has volunteered much of his time to community and philanthropic causes over his working career.  He is a Past President of The Israel Cancer Research Fund; a past Board and Finance Committee Member of The Royal Conservatory of Music; he is a Founder of The Baystock Foundation, a registered charity that raised money for youth charities via its annual Battle of The Bands. Norman also served as a Board Member of Holy Blossom Temple and is currently Chair of Holy Blossom’s Investment Review Committee.
 
Toronto-born and raised, and the youngest sibling of six children, Norman is married to Janet, also an MBA, who runs a Toronto based financial organization business.  Together they have four beautiful daughters. Norman is an avid musician, golfer, skier and cottager.
 

Richard Minuk, CFA

Investment Advisor

Richard Minuk has spent his career helping people invest and manage client portfolios. 
 
He joined BMO Nesbitt Burns after a decade with some of Canada’s most reputable money managers, providing investment insight to financial advisors. 
 
Richard has extensive experience and knowledge across multiple asset classes and is a CFA® Charterholder, an achievement recognized globally as the gold standard designation for the investment industry (cfainsitute.org) .
 
Richard's clients trust him because he takes the time to listen to ensure he understands what is most important to them. He offers personalized and individual attention, builds customized plans and emphasizes a balanced approach to risk and return.
 
Richard and his family live in Toronto where he is active in his community both locally in his neighbourhood on the Danforth and as a member of the investment committee of one of Toronto’s largest synagogues.
 
These days, most of his free time is spent with his family, playing guitar, catching an NBA game, or in his new-found hobby of playing chess.  Richard and his wife love to travel and have a scratch map on their kitchen wall outlining the countries they have been to so far - 31 and counting.

Sherman Sung

Senior Associate

Sherman joined The Goldhar Group in 2008 and his main responsibilities include client service, trading and research. He is an Associate Investment Advisor of BMO Nesbitt Burns having joined the firm in 2002.

Prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, Sherman held roles in sales and consulting for a private import/export company. He was born and raised in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto with an Economics degree.

Sherman is married with 2 children.

Sofia Sapra

Senior Associate

Sofia joined The Goldhar Group in 2004 and is now an Associate Investment Advisor with a focus on client service, account administration and financial planning.

India born and raised, Sofia moved to Toronto with her husband in 2002 from South Africa and is very proud to call Canada home. She has a graduate degree in commerce and has completed various Canadian securities industry courses.

Sofia and her husband Rajneesh live in Thornhill with their two wonderful young children. Together they enjoy adventuring in and around the city, watching movies, biking, playing tennis and reading books together.

Marianne Cizmar, CIM

Senior Associate

Marianne returned to BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2017 bringing 20+ years of experience to the Goldhar Group in her role as an Associate Investment Advisor.
 
Marianne thrives on building unique relationships with clients to ensure their investment strategies are tailored to their specific goals.  She strives to provide a high level of personalized service, taking the time to get to know the clients and their needs.
 
Born and raised in Toronto Marianne now lives with her family in Whitby.  

Kerenza Yuen

Client Service Assistant

Kerenza joined the Goldhar Group in 2021 as a client service associate. She uses her organizational skills to support the administrative processes of the team.

After graduating from Queen’s University, she has completed several financial courses to expand her experience. She is currently working on obtaining her CSC license from the Canadian Securities Institute.

Kerenza is an avid rock climber, snack enthusiast, and aspiring plant mom.

Rebecca joined BMO Wealth Management in November 2017. Prior to that she spent 7 years working in public accounting, encompassing the areas of personal and corporate taxation, corporate restructuring, financial mediation and divorce finances, tax and wealth planning. Additionally she has spent time in the manufacturing and service sectors in finance roles, and started her career with a ‘big 4’ accounting firm.

Dante joined BMO Wealth Management in 2015 from global professional services firm Deloitte LLP, where he worked for 10 years in progressively senior roles, managing and executing detailed reviews of complex corporate, personal, partnership and trust tax compliance and planning engagements.

Karen advises high net worth families and business owners on comprehensive wealth planning solutions, as part of an integrated team of Wealth Consultants and in-house technical specialists. Drawing on extensive financial product expertise and planning acumen, Karen helps clients articulate and understand their unique objectives for accumulated wealth. A skilled listener, she acts as a value-add resource for Investment Advisors and their clients, ultimately providing a blueprint from which to execute a customized – and optimized – wealth plan.

Karen joined BMO Wealth Management in 2011, following progressively senior roles in the financial services industry, specializing in wealth planning, marketing and communications, and business development. In her previous role, she worked as a Vice President for a private investment counsel firm where she provided high net worth clients with comprehensive wealth planning and investment counselling services.
