Weekly "Focus" and Technical Support

Bradley Goldhar - Aug 23, 2024

We are saying goodbye today to our colleague Kerenza Yuen who is taking maternity leave starting on Monday and we look forward to welcoming her back in a year. We have advised Kerenza to get a lot of sleep now before the baby is born! During her absence, we are welcoming Sam Mok to our team who is taking on Kerenza’s administrative duties. Sam can be reached at 416-359-6116 or samuel.mok@nbpcd.com

Is there anything more frustrating than having to deal with your cable or phone provider on a tech-related issue? This week we switched over to the Bell Fibe TV service and after a 45-minute phone call with their technical support the service was finally working. Turns out the problem was a faulty remote controller. It’s been a rough year for shareholders of BCE*, Rogers Communications* and Telus* as they are hunting for growth in a competitive industry environment. Russ Visch is the BMO Private Wealth technical analyst who looks for trends using company stock and volume charts and attached is his commentary on Canada’s three largest telecom companies. Tim Casey is the BMO Capital Markets fundamental research analyst covering the sector and he currently sees better opportunities with Rogers and Telus as compared to BCE.
