For over 20 years Mark has been helping families preserve and enhance their wealth through a disciplined and pro-active wealth management approach. He is a recognized leader who has demonstrated an ability to take complex investment and financial matters and provide clients with solid solutions and communicates them simply and clearly. Mark and his team specialize in providing advice for individuals, institutions and foundations that is proactive, insightful and truly reflects each clients' unique needs and goals.

He earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria, specializing in International Trade and Economics. Mark has conducted extensive training and education beyond just Investment Management to include areas such as business succession planning, estate issues, financial and retirement planning and has achieved the designation of Wealth Advisor at BMO Nesbitt Burns. Mark is a Professional Financial Planner and an Insurance Advisor (Level II).

Born and raised in Victoria, Mark has a passion for the West Coast. Mark and his wife Natasha have four children: Benjamin, Alexander, Kiera and Jessica and enjoy the outdoors and numerous activities Vancouver Island has to offer.

With more than 10 years in the financial industry, Larissa understands the importance of forming meaningful relationships and the impact that has on her ability to help clients achieve their personal and financial goals. A planner by nature, Larissa’s approach is that no detail goes overlooked – this helps her gain a strong understanding of each client’s unique situation, where they want to go, and what strategies to implement to get them there.

Larissa started in financial services as a teller at a credit union, while completing her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She then transitioned into wealth management which has given her experience working with a multitude of clients and their families in the areas of investment management, retirement planning, insurance, tax and estate planning. Larissa’s credentials include being fully licensed as a Registered Representative and a Certified Financial Planner® since 2016.  

Larissa was born and raised in Port Coquitlam, BC and spent most of her life in the Greater Vancouver area before moving to Victoria in 2016. She can found at the gym most mornings before the sun comes up, and hopes to improve her golf game in the years to come. She also enjoys learning about wine, and has completed the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 Award in Wine.

Ben Hutcheson serves as an Investment Associate, supporting the advisory team with a focus on portfolio construction, performance monitoring, and market research. With an academic foundation in economics, Ben maintains a focused interest in macroeconomic developments and commodity market dynamics. He is dedicated to delivering critical analysis, and detailed information that is coherent with clients’ long-term financial objectives. Ben works closely with the team to ensure a engaging, insightful and responsive client experience.

Born and raised in Victoria, Ben enjoys discovering the many hidden gems the island has to offer. Outside of the office, he spends a considerable amount of time camping throughout BC with his wife Breanne. He also enjoys playing cards and board games, and — despite limited success — continues to fish when he gets the chance.

Assumpta joined the Hutcheson Wealth Advisory Group 13 years ago from the Bank of Montreal Harris Private Banking. She has over 30 years banking experience in a variety of areas with BMO Financial Group, and is the hub of our commitment to personal service.

Assumpta completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1997, and the Professional Financial Planning Course in 2008.

In her spare time, Assumpta enjoys Yoga, running and gardening.

Amanda brings a blend of technical and administrative expertise to her role as an Administration Assistant. Originally from Brazil, she holds a degree in Civil Engineering and immigrated to Canada in 2022 to pursue a second diploma in Business Administration at the University of Victoria.

Her journey in financial services began as a teller, where she developed a strong foundation in client service and banking operations. Since then, Amanda has continued to grow her career—becoming life insurance licensed and gaining experience across various areas of financial services—while supporting both advisors and clients with care and precision.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys cooking, spending time with friends, and exploring the outdoors. A recent snowboarding enthusiast, she’s embracing the West Coast lifestyle one slope at a time.
