Community Leadership

Loan Nguyen has an impressive background in community leadership. She was one of the founding Director and formerly the President of the North Edmonton Business Association (NEBA) for five years, where she connected entrepreneurs and professionals and ensured Edmonton was not overlooked for funding opportunities.

Loan developed NEBA’s business succession plan; ran a mini chamber of commerce for the area North of the Yellowhead Trail from North West to North East; organized networking events, brainstorming sessions, referrals, and promotional events; and wrote two newsletters each month with excellent content that achieved a high click-through rate for readership.

Through NEBA, Loan and her team worked with Londonderry Mall to host the very first Lunar New Year Event starting in 2016.  Attended by the Mayor and 16 elected officials, this hallmark of cultural diversity remains a point of pride for North Edmonton and for the Asian community.  This event has been featured on CBC, CTVNews and GlobalNews Edmonton.

When Loan and her team at NEBA hosted the Gateway of Possibilities event at the Edmonton Expo Centre (Hall C), Mayor Iveson proclaimed May 30, 2015 as North Edmonton Business Association (NEBA) Day - a proud achievement and moment.

Loan also assists with fundraising events for the Edmonton Humane Society, one of her favorite charities, where Loan adopted her two cats and her two dogs. She is a member of the eWomenNetwork and does charitable work for families in collaboration with the Edmonton Public School Board.
