John Waters, CA, CFP, TEP
Head of Tax
John's area of expertise includes personal tax and corporate tax for private corporations as well as financial and estate planning for high net worth individuals, executives and entrepreneurs. John is a Chartered Accountant (CA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm) From Queen's University.
Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns, John was employed by a large, international accounting firm as a senior member of the Toronto High Net Worth tax practice. John has also assisted in the design and execution of executive compensation plans and has expert ice in a wide range of planning scenarios involving the taxation of individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships.
Jonathan Morse, LL.B, LL.M, TEP
Director, Estate Planning
Jonathan works with high-net-worth clients to devise estate solutions that are right for them. He identifies concerns and helps clients navigate legal and non-legal issues to ideally avoid future estate disputes. Jonathan’s clients benefit from his insights and ability to put them at ease during an otherwise challenging conversation. He analyses facts with a good grasp of the details and overall risk factors. Jonathan helps clients to achieve their goals with practical estate and tax plan strategies. He enjoys working with individual clients as well as speaking with larger groups about the overall themes in estate planning. He is an effective and engaging communicator.
As a Director of Wealth Planning, Jonathan focuses on Estate & Trust matters. He joined the BMO in August 2015 after five years in private practice as a lawyer and another five years with a national trust company. While in private practice, Jonathan worked as an associate at an estate litigation firm. Before law school, he wrote speeches for a federal cabinet minister.
Karen Sparks, MBA, CFP®, TEP
Director, Philanthropic Advisory Services
Karen advises high net worth families and business owners on comprehensive wealth planning solutions, as part of an integrated team of Wealth Consultants and in-house technical specialists. Drawing on extensive financial product expertise and planning acumen, Karen helps clients articulate and understand their unique objectives for accumulated wealth. A skilled listener, she acts as a value-add resource for Investment Advisors and their clients, ultimately providing a blueprint from which to execute a customized – and optimized – wealth plan.
Karen joined BMO Wealth Management in 2011, following progressively senior roles in the financial services industry, specializing in wealth planning, marketing and communications, and business development. In her previous role, she worked as a Vice President for a private investment counsel firm where she provided high net worth clients with comprehensive wealth planning and investment counselling services.
Ron Goldstein, PFP, CFA, MBA
Director, Wealth Planning
Ron has been providing financial planning and investment counseling to Canadians over the last fifteen years while working with leading financial institutions. Throughout his career, Ron has earned his clients’ trust by providing exemplary client service and deep subject matter expertise. Using a holistic approach, Ron collaborates with his colleagues in BMO Wealth Management to help clients clearly articulate their personal wealth goals.
Together, we provide a multidimensional perspective that offers a valuable complement to our clients’ other professional counsel. Ron’s goal is to empower clients with comprehensive and customized solutions, resolving complex situations through coordinated and proactive wealth plans.
Stéphane Rochon, CFA, MBA
Vice President and Managing Director, Head of Private Client Research
Stéphane has over 15 years of experience in the investment industry, focusing primarily on Canadian and U.S. equities. Stéphane chairs the Private Client Investment Strategy Committee, which establishes the overall asset allocations for client portfolios. He also researches and publishes reports on longer-term investment themes and their expected impact on the markets. As the Head of Private Client Research, Stéphane is also responsible for the overall direction and oversight of the team's publications. Stéphane is a CFA charter holder and holds an MBA from McGill University.
Before joining the BMO team, Stéphane was Director and U.S. Research Product Manager in Credit Suisse’s Equity Research department in New York. As part of that role, he was responsible for approving and coordinating new stock and sector initiations as well as thematic research reports. He also managed the Credit Suisse Focus List and outperformed the S&P 500 seven consecutive years. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2004, he spent six years working with a major Canadian bank in Toronto.

Husayn Sidi
Director, BMO Family Office
Husayn is a Director on the BMO Family Office Team where he is the primary contact for wealth professionals outside of the Quebec Market. He is responsible for coordinating the delivery of a specialized suite of services across investments, philanthropy, family governance, planning, and other areas of the business.
Prior to joining the Family Office Team, Husayn was a Partner in a family manufacturing business in charge of leading the growth of the US Business. Prior to this, Husayn spent 10 years in BMO’s Commercial business in various roles, including as Director, Diversified Industries – Corporate Finance Division, where he was responsible for the portfolio management of large public and private companies, and the credit underwriting of complex transactions.
Husayn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McGill University and was awarded the Dean’s Honour List and is a McGill University Scholarship Recipient. Husayn resides in Toronto.
