At BMO Private Wealth, wealth planning is at the core of everything we do. Hilary will bring a team of Private Wealth professionals together to offer fully integrated wealth solutions (banking, lending, investment management, trust, estate and business succession planning needs) to help clients achieve their personal wealth goals.
Hilary brings her background as a lawyer practicing in estate and family law to her estate administration role at BMO Trust Company. Hilary has extensive experience acting as the court appointed Estate Trustee During Litigation (ETDL) and Guardian. She uses her training in Alternative Dispute Resolution to manage complex family dynamics. Prior to working in the financial sector, Hilary oversaw the legacy giving program at a national charity. She brings her experience drafting wills and assisting donors with leaving a gift in their Will to her role at BMO Trust Company. She enjoys meeting with clients to assist them with their estate planning, specifically, helping them feel that they have organized their estate to ensure that they have taken care of their loved ones and causes important to them after they pass.
Hilary grew up in Toronto, and enjoys discovering the city by foot. She is passionate about history and education. Her master’s degree was in public history, which focused on engaging the public in local history and the preservation of built heritage under the “Ontario Heritage Act”.
