Meet the Team

Terri Szego, MBA, CFA Terri began her investment career in 2000 when she left the mines of northern Ontario to join the mining group of BMO Capital Markets. Finding that her interests were more aligned with helping individual clients with their financial affairs, Terri started as an Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns 19 years ago. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Queen’s University, and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. In 2015, Terri was a nominee for the IIAC Top Under 40 award.

From 2018-2023, Terri was a member, and then Chair, of the Investment Advisor Advisory Committee at BMO Private Wealth. Terri was also a member of the Nesbitt Burns Management Committee from 2021-2023 representing the views of her Investment Advisor colleagues to senior leadership. In the community, Terri is a strong supporter of Kids Help Phone and the United Way.

Terri and her husband John are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. Based in Oakville, they enjoy skiing, playing tennis and traveling with their three children.

Doug Jones, CIM, has been an Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns for over 41 years. He has been active in various industry organizations and has served as President of the Toronto Society of the Investment Dealers Association. Doug has completed the Canadian Investment Management Course (CIM designation) with the Canadian Securities Institute, and also the Wealth Advisory Program within BMO Nesbitt Burns. He is a Senior Portfolio Manager of BMO Nesbitt Burns. In his spare time, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife and their two kids at their cottage.

Richard Lawrence, CFA joined BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor in 2011 and loves working with clients who aspire to or have achieved financial independence. Prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns he worked as a Software Consultant for financial services companies at Hugh Group Inc. and at the Toronto Renewable Energy Co-operative; a project incubator and educational resource for community power projects. He obtained a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut. As a former NCAA Div. III Rookie of the Year and All-American tennis player at Trinity, Richard enjoys being active when out of the office. This includes everything from rock climbing and golf to chasing after his children and dogs.

Kyle Hetherington, JD, CIM, joined BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor in 2020 and brings strategic discipline and a commitment to enriching the lives of those he works with. Prior to joining Nesbitt, Kyle had a successful career as a litigator running his own legal practice. His experience in managing his own investments sparked a passion for the markets and wealth planning, leading to his transition into financial advising. Kyle holds degrees from Queen's and Bond Universities and serves on the board of directors for De La Salle College. He is a family-oriented and active individual and enjoys playing hockey, cycling and spending time at the cottage with his wife and dogs.

Hill Su is joining the Szego team as a Financial Planner and Wealth Associate. Hill’s education background includes a Master of Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management degree, both from the University of Waterloo. Hill is a CPA, CA and earned his charter with PwC. He also holds the CFA and CFP designations. Hill joined BMO Private Wealth in February 2019 as a Senior Wealth Planning Consultant. Prior to joining BMO, Hill worked with a boutique wealth management firm advising professionals and business owners on financial planning, tax planning, and estate planning. Hill currently resides in Markham with his wife and daughter. Hill enjoys playing sports and is an avid basketball fan.

Cherie Ahlberg joined the team as a Financial Planner and Investment Associate in 2025. She brings with her over 15 years of experience in the financial planning field, and 25 years in the financial services industry. Cherie completed her undergraduate and post graduate studies at U of T and has her Certified Financial Planning designation (CFP).  Outside of the office, Cherie enjoys gardening, skiing and being active with her family.

Ann McCarron, BA Econ, is a University of Toronto graduate and has over 30 years of experience in coordinating and communicating investment ideas to clients on behalf of our team. Ann is responsible for trading and client service. Ann, her husband Harj. and their two children enjoy cultural adventure travel when not busy with elite baseball.

Mario Glavas, joined BMO Financial Group in 2013 and is responsible for administrative support and client service. Mario leverages excellent communication and organization skills to manage all client requests, while bringing a methodical approach to problem resolution.

Glen Breglia re-joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2018, bringing over 20 years of experience in the investment industry. Glen graduated from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Representative. He is an integral part of the team’s day to day operations, providing superior client service that meets the high standards of our valued clients. Running, hockey, tennis and the outdoors are just a few of the things Glen enjoys while maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.

Bianca Creanga began her career at BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2016. She worked at BMO throughout her studies in University, which were completed at Ryerson's Ted Rogers School of Management. Her Bachelor of Commerce degree focused primarily on Marketing and Law. Her role on the Szego Jones Lawrence Wealth Management team consists of assisting with documentation, client transactions along with other daily administrative support duties. She enjoys reading and traveling while also making sure to keep active in her spare time. She is a lover of chocolates and all things sweet. Bianca was born in Romania and is also fluent in Romanian.

Hailey Friedrichsen joined BMO Nesbitt Burns and the Szego Jones Lawrence team in 2022. She came from a background in e-commerce customer experience, along with an undergraduate degree in Film Studies from Western University. Hailey supports the team by preparing and maintaining client documentation, coordinating marketing needs, and performing administrative duties. In her spare time, Hailey enjoys playing sports, film photography and exploring Toronto’s restaurants. Hailey has completed the CSC and CPH and is fully licensed.
