Nassim Rowhani, CIM, B.Comm.
Senior Portfolio Manager & Senior Investment Advisor
Nassim grew up in Ottawa and obtained her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Carleton University in 1994. She is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Investment Advisor. Nassim joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1998. The following year, she joined The Glen Group and its founder Nick Glen. In 2011, she was invited to become a Partner of The Glen Group, a position she held through the dissolution of this Group in the spring of 2021. She then formed a new partnership in late 2021. Nassim joined her husband, Robert Chalanchuk and his business partner, Glen Leader to form the Rowhani Chalanchuk Leader Group (RCL Group) of which she is the senior partner. She is incredibly grateful to continue to work closely with her long-standing partner, Nick Glen, from the Glen Group. In this thriving partnership, with the support of her talented team members, Nassim looks forward to continuing to serve her long-time clients for many years to come.
Nassim and Robert have been married for over 20 years and are the proud parents of teenage twins. They love travelling the world together and staying active. Rain or shine, almost every weekend you can find them hiking one of the beautiful BC trails. Nassim is an avid reader who loves autobiographies and memoirs and is always asking friends, family and clients to provide her with a new book recommendation.
Glen Leader, CIM, FCSI
Senior Portfolio Manager & Senior Investment Advisor
Glen was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and arrived in Canada in 1977. In 1998, he joined BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor. In 2008, he was appointed Branch Manager, and three years later, Managing Director. As Managing Director for more than a decade, Glen supervised the largest BMO Nesbitt Burns branch in Canada, an office that administered over $12 billion of clients’ financial assets. During his time as Managing Director, Glen continued looking after his clients and earned his Portfolio Manager title. Glen is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FSCI), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) and Portfolio Manager. He has been married to his wife, Jackie, since 2002 and they have three children who keep them busy. Glen proudly serves on the Board of Directors of a non-profit, Seva Canada.
Mathew Chan, CPA
Investment Advisor
Mathew was born and raised in Dunbar where he attended Southlands Elementary and then Point Grey Secondary like his father and grandfather. He continued his education at The University of Western Ontario where he studied kinesiology and economics before ultimately graduating from the Richard Ivey School of Business with a focus in accounting. He began his career at a big four accounting firm where he spent the next several years working in the audit, assurance, and taxation departments while also articling as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). He joined Nesbitt Burns in 2020 where he continues to apply his ability to understand complex financial concepts and translate them into everyday language. Mathew is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) and Associate Portfolio Manager.
Not just a numbers guy, Mathew is an avid rugby player, reader, and cook. He’s been to 18 countries (and counting), and he’s had many other careers along the way. If you’re interested you can always ask him about his time as a fry cook, gardener, landscaper, door-to-door salesman, bartender, or waiter. If you ask nicely, he will tell you with the Scottish accent he picked up living in Glasgow.
Robert Chalanchuk, CIM, FCSI
Senior Portfolio Manager & Senior Investment Advisor
Robert was born and raised on a farm in Manitoba and after earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba, completed five years in the Canadian Armed Forces. After his service, he moved to Vancouver and began a new career in financial management, where he joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1995. As he gained experience, Robert founded The Chalanchuk Group, which is now an integral part of the Rowhani Chalanchuk Leader Group. Robert is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM), and a Portfolio Manager.
Robert has been happily married to Nassim since 2002 but always says that it has felt like a week. Their twins bring them great joy (mostly) even though they are in their teen years. Depending on the season, you will find him in the mountains getting some fresh air riding a mountain bike or hiking a trail. It could also be that he will be using a self-propelled water craft on a local body of water. While in the woods or on the water, he may also be providing assistance to one of his directionally challenged family members.
Marvin Tan, CFA
Associate Portfolio Manager
Marvin grew up in Toronto, where he began his career in the financial services industry. After graduating from university in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Economics and Psychology from the University of Toronto, his first role was as a representative for a leading Canadian bank’s discount brokerage. Early in his career, Marvin gained diverse experience working with several independent mutual fund and wealth advisory firms. Through roles of increasing responsibility—including Fund Accountant, Portfolio Performance Analyst, Equity Trader, and Associate Portfolio Manager—he developed a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
Since 2007, Marvin has focused exclusively on managing tailored portfolios of stocks, bonds, and funds for high-net-worth clients, collaborating closely with investment advisors and counselors. In 2012, he joined BMO Nesbitt Burns as a Supervising Portfolio Manager, where he played a key role in the growth of the firm’s discretionary platform.
In 2014, Marvin relocated to Vancouver at the request of his then-girlfriend, Lisa, whom he married the following year—a decision he considers one of his best. He joined HSBC Global Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager, where he initially oversaw CAD and USD fixed income models before becoming the lead manager of a global equity model. Marvin has now returned to BMO Nesbitt Burns as a proud member of the RCL Group, eager to contribute his expertise and serve clients. Marvin is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Outside of work, he enjoys time with his wife and their energetic, inquisitive elementary school-aged son. Together, they enjoy exploring Vancouver’s scenic hiking trails, taking summer trips to the BC Gulf Islands, and having picnics in Stanley Park. In his personal time, Marvin stays active through boxing, playing basketball and soccer with his son, and biking across the city in search of the perfect spicy meal
Linda Chen
Senior Wealth Associate
After earning her Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance and International Business from UBC Sauder School of Business, Linda entered the banking industry to explore her passion for financial planning in 2011. Linda joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2017 as a Senior Sales Assistant. In addition to her primary job functions, Linda was recognized by the office for exceeding expectations in the past two years. Linda and her husband welcomed their first baby in 2021 and she's definitely a bundle of joy. When she is not keeping busy with work and family, you can find Linda devoting her attention to eating great food, or travelling the world to find the next place to scuba dive.
Stephen Dickinson

Steve grew up in Vancouver and graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2003 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree and a health and fitness major. A competitive soccer player, Steve has a notable history playing at the university varsity level, in national competitions, and for clubs in France and Norway. Soon after graduation however, he developed a passion for the financial markets and has immersed himself in the industry ever since.
In 2008 Steve partnered with a US proprietary brokerage firm as a stock trader and successfully managed a private multi-million dollar equity portfolio for over four years. Working closely with a specialized team of traders, he took the lead on the development and implementation of numerous quantitative relative-value equity strategies.
Steve joined the Group as an Associate Investment Advisor and currently works with Nassim Rowhani providing trading support, client account management, and fostering client relationships. Hard working, detail-oriented, and with a high affinity for teamwork, Steve has always excelled brightly in his long-term endeavours and the RCL Group is proud to have him as part of the team.
Steve speaks French and has lived in several countries including France, Norway, Argentina, and Lithuania. He has a love for travel but is now truly happy to call Vancouver and the RCL Group his home. Living in the West Side of Vancouver with his wife and two young daughters, Steve enjoys an active family lifestyle and continues to engage in the community and on the sport fields.
Michelle Eldred

Michelle is a Senior Wealth Associate with over 30 years experience in the financial services industry. Her passion for this career was sparked by her two-year tenure on the Trading Floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange, and she has since worked for top advisors in full-service brokerage firms across Canada. Michelle is also a former business owner who provided a variety of consulting services for investment firms dedicated to providing best-in-class client support. Michelle has also led company-wide fundraising efforts for Kids Help Phone over the last 10 years, raising tens of thousands of dollars. Michelle enjoys interacting with people and is often told she has one of the best phone voices in the business.
Michelle and her partner Kevin have two wonderful children – Jasper and Audrey. Together, they enjoy adventuring in and around the city, spending time with their extended family and friends, and dancing in the kitchen.
Christine Yap

Born in Malaysia, Christine and her family immigrated to Canada 35 years ago. After earning her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, she worked at two major banks – HSBC and Laurentian Bank of Canada – before starting as an Assistant at BMO Nesbitt Burns, where her career has now spanned over 20 years. Presently, after years of study, Christine has obtained the required certificates and licenses for her current role as an Senior Wealth Associate with the Rowhani Chalanchuk Leader Group. Outside of the office, Christine enjoys spending time with her husband, Jose, and their two children, Alexander and Natalie. She also loves taking Sam, the family pet, out for walks around their neighbourhood and all the beautiful Vancouver parks.
Aveen Glen
Wealth Associate
Aveen grew up in Victoria and made the move to Vancouver when she joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in the Summer of 2021. Aveen completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with a major in Exercise and Health Physiology from the University of Calgary. While attending the University of Calgary, Aveen competed on the Varsity Field Hockey team. Aveen is passionate about connecting with clients and building lasting connections. In her free time, you can find Aveen playing sports, exploring the outdoors with her friends and family or tracking down the best spots to eat.
Matthew Acosta
Senior Client Service Associate
Matthew, who has been working with BMO Nesbitt Burns for over three years, started in the business by joining the Client Services team, where he worked in the mailroom. Shortly after, he joined the Regional Supervision Team, where he reviewed all client trades in both BMO Nesbitt Burns Vancouver branches. Matthew has recently joined the RCL group as a new Sales Assistant. In his free time, Matthew enjoys being active, whether its spending time in the gym, boxing, or hiking with his dog, Finn.
Lynne Torres
Senior Client Service Associate
Prior to joining The Glen Group in 2000, Lynne worked as a Customer Quality Supervisor in a technical capacity for a large semiconductor firm in the Philippines. While there, she helped organize and participated in PRODUKTRONIKA, the world’s leading international trade show for innovative electronics production in Munich, Germany in 1989.
Lynne is a graduate of Adamson University in Manila, Philippines, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a major in Political Science. A licensed Registered Representative (RR), Lynne provides exceptional client service as well as investment, wealth management and administrative support. Lynne also holds certificates in Personal Financial Planning and Advanced Investment Strategies. Currently, Lynne is working on her LLQP (Life Licensed Qualification Program) certificate.
With over 20 years of experience in our industry, Lynne is a wealth of information. She has a way of managing challenges that others may find hard to resolve. Lynne has a reputation of being a passionate multi-tasker who enjoys addressing clients’ varied questions pertaining to their accounts. Lynne feels that every client deserves superior level of service so this is her continuous goal.
Outside of work, you can find Lynne biking, bowling, baking delicious chocolate-based treats or spending quality time with her husband, Reggie, her daughter, Frances, or training the family’s very active dog, an Australian Shepherd. And yes… Lynne also loves to entertain people with her singing ability.
Christian Briones
Client Service Associate
Christian was born and raised in the Greater Vancouver area, where he recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University. During his time spent at SFU, Christian leveraged his interest in finance and business to serve as Fund manager at the Vancouver Social Value Fund (VSVF)—a non-profit organization which works with the local community to identify and fulfill funding gaps in social purpose organizations who have barriers to accessing traditional capital. In addition, Christian also enjoyed active involvement in SFU’s Student Societies, Council, and various case competitions in the area of economics and business. Christian was a high-level athlete on the BC Provincial Snowboard Team with Canada Snowboard for 5 years. To no surprise, during his free time, you can still find Christian snowboarding in Whistler or running the seawall at Stanley Park. Christian believes in building and maintaining strong relationships with the people he is surrounded with by putting others first, being reliable, and constantly working hard to earn their trust. At RCL Group, he looks forward to forming and building these relationships with the clients he serves.
Karmen Suen

Graduating from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor's in Interactive Arts and Technology, Karmen brings her expertise in technology and strong grasp of client needs to support the team in administrative and operational tasks. She is dedicated to completing requests and resolving problems in a timely manner and is passionate in ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for our clients. Karmen continues to expand her investment knowledge to support the team and provide service to more clients in the future. In her free time, you can find her crafting miniature dollhouses and enjoying local eats with her family and friends.
Nicole Wanner
Client Service Assistant
Nicole graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Economics, after which she moved to Xiamen, China, where she held the position of Marketing Director for Ports International. She joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2000 and gained over 14 years of industry experience as an Investment Representative before deciding to put her career on hold to stay home and raise her two children. During this time, she started a successful pet services company in White Rock, BC. Nicole returned to the investment industry and joined The RCL group as an Administrative Assistant, where she is responsible for the administrative set up and maintenance of investment accounts, fund transfers and responding to client enquiries.
