Get to know the MMB Wealth team - Kim Kaethler

How long have you worked with MMB Wealth?
Since 2003, so 19 years in April, wow! Alison Keene hired me when the discount side, BMO Investorline, closed their Calgary office, I had been there since 1999. Before that I ran through all the usual career progressions at BMO, starting as a Safety Deposit Box Attendant at the Old BMO on Stephen Avenue when I was 17.

Where were you born and raised?
Born in Winnipeg, but moved to Calgary when I was 10, so I usually just say I am from Calgary.

What are you passionate about?
My family, my daughter and all her things. She will be a Blackbelt this year!

How would you spend an entire day in Calgary?
Biking! All the paths down by the Bow River, include stops at Inglewood Drive In (burgers and ice cream) and Harvie Passage (sun and people watching) and, of course, a few breweries, Cold Garden and Ol’Beautiful are the faves.

Where is your favourite place(s) to travel?
Europe is nice, but busy. NYC is my favourite city in North America. For relaxation, definitely Costa Rica.

What is your favourite sport?
To play – Badminton, to watch – Hockey.

What is your favourite food?
Anything pasta or risotto, with prawns, even better!

What is one thing we should know about you?
I have a love/hate relationship with shopping.

How do you spend your free time?
All of the above! I also enjoy reading, cooking, spending time with friends and spa-ing.
