Testimonials

Fiona (1959) (July 14, 2020)

As I approach pre-retirement, stability and reassurance have been a priority for me as a BMO Private Wealth client especially in these turbulent times of the world Pandemic. I truly appreciated the Private Wealth FLASH/ Market updates in the early stages of lockdown, Julie and her team have been transparent, honest and so reassuring. My portfolio has ridden the big storm and is now at a level that I can sleep well at night, my future retirement goals are still on track!

Thank you for listening, understanding what kind of investor I am and for giving such a great service! Chapeau to you Julie and the team!

Judy D. (1952) - Business Owner (July 10, 2020)

What prompted you to seek my services?

"You are honest, smart and talented when it comes to investments. The main reason I wanted to work with you though is that I trust you."

What situation or problem did you need to solve?

"I needed to find someone who truly had my interests at heart."

How did you benefit from working with me?

"I am no longer anxious about my investments and I feel totally comfortable discussing different issues. You helped me find creative solutions to a few tough problems."

If a potential client was on the fence about whether to work with me or not, what would you say to them?

"I would say not to hesitate and to work with Julie."

Did I offer more than you expected?

"Yes, you did. I got great advice and a person who is always available to discuss whatever comes up. Unfortunately, this is not a given in this industry."

Helene B. (1956) – Executive Assistant (July 9, 2020)

I highly recommend Julie Delaney as a Wealth Advisor.  I have been her client for many years and am very pleased with her services.

Julie is personable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.  I always learn from our discussions as she passes along detailed information based on thorough research, makes good suggestions and patiently explains concepts.

Over the years, Julie has been readily available, demonstrating she places her clients’ interests at heart.  Not only does she promptly respond to client requests, Julie is motivated to initiate conversations as well.

Julie has been most helpful with my investment and estate planning that, as a result, I feel confident about my financial future.

John H. (1947) – Retired Business Consultant (July 9, 2020)

1. Trust
It is all about trust - trust that the advisor has the knowledge (or knows where to obtain it); judgement and communication skills to guide the client towards their goals and objectives in a relaxed and professional manner.

2. Organization
The advisor needs to be well organized - to recall all the little details that the client tells her/him; to be able to put her/his hand on the relevant data quickly and accurately as needed. To be up to date herself with what is happening in the micro and macro world of investing, finance and economics.

3. Listening
This is a twofold skill:
1) actually hearing what the client is saying and understanding the nuances
2) responding with the appropriate information / guidance / coaching.

As the client base has varied objectives, experience, personalities - tailoring the relationship to the individual to ensure success takes unique skills; as does dealing with the external and internal stresses that requires a high skill level in: listening, judgement, communication, tact, and a wonderful juggling capability.

4. Availability
The advisor needs to be available as required - again a balancing act among clients, management and personal life. Everyone (client, office staff) is a customer - in fact at that moment - The CLIENT.

5. Enjoyment
The advisor needs to enjoy the work and pass that sense to her/his clients/staff. Having fun is important in today’s work environment and is often stressed in the more successful/recognized companies. High quality people want to work in these companies and people want to be customer of these same companies. The advisor needs to project this.

Enough preaching. Julie Delany has all these skills and attributes. That is why we have chosen to work with her and BMO- Nesbitt Burns. Our assessment of investment professional organizations involved vetting three choices. Julie (& Felicity) are #1.

Questions

Sabi A. (1954) – Management (June 25, 2018)

I have been with Nesbitt Burns for some 40 years. For that entire period my finances were managed by Felicity Palmer who has done a great job. Since Felicity's retirement, my account was transferred to Julie Delaney. Julie has done a terrific job, both as an advisor and as a sounding board, listening patiently to my concerns and providing financial guidance. I find Julie to be knowledgeable, patient, and assertive when needed in preventing me from making rash decisions. Julie is very thorough, yet able to explain things in simple, clear terms. I have been very happy with Julie and impressed by her interpersonal skills.

Thank you Julie.
