With over fifteen years of experience specializing in providing investment advisory and financial planning services to high net worth physicians and their families, Gurpreet Sohi joined BMO Private Wealth in 2019. Working closely with a network of BMO specialists, he delivers highly customized investment strategies to help physicians, specialists, residents and other healthcare practitioners reach their goals and make wise financial decisions regarding their medical practice at every stage of their careers.
 
Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, Gurpreet worked with MD Financial, a subsidiary of the Canadian Medical Association. Gurpreet’s priority is ensuring your financial affairs are as streamlined and simplified as possible. He has a deep understanding of the extreme demands of the profession – long hours, high-stress environments, busy schedules, high debt loads for graduating students, the numerous complications of COVID-19 and many other factors. His experienced, integrated wealth advice can help you plan to pay down debt, maximize your income stream and portfolio returns, solve financial complexities, plan wisely for retirement and enjoy the wealth you’ve worked long and hard to achieve.

As a Portfolio Manager, Gurpreet is qualified to perform discretionary wealth management, which frees busy doctors from the pressures of making investment decisions and brings several other advantages. Gurpreet holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Financial Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he later became an instructor on Strategic Change within the school of business. In 2022, Gurpreet was recognized as one of the Top 40 Investment Advisors under the age of 40 in Canada across all investment firms. 
 
Gurpreet formerly served on a board within the school of business for Douglas College to help improve course material and practical industry experience for students and alumni. Currently he sits on the BCIT Program Advisory Committee for their BBA degree. Gurpreet and his wife Sharan have a passion for travel and food as she is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Their most recent adventure was a trip to Costa Rica while South Africa is next on their bucket list. They also enjoy giving back to the community as Gurpreet is a current member of the Rotary Club of Coquitlam.
