Meet our Team

Gary Lewin

Senior Wealth Advisor & Portfolio Manager

As the Principal and Lead Advisor of Lewin Wealth Advisory Group, nothing matters more to me than my clients’ well being. Ultimately, I have chosen to act as an agent of change and am someone who my clients can trust to help them protect, preserve, and grow their finances, and their future. While I have been told that I am caring and warm by nature, I believe that it is my curious side that keeps me engaged and asking the right questions. This leads to insightful conversations that uncover what matters most to my clients.

This is a complex profession. Consequently, ongoing professional development is critical. The most distinguished designations I hold are the Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) and the Certified Investment Manager (CIM). The CIM enables me to act as a Discretionary Portfolio Manager. This separates me from many of my peers in the industry and allows me to spend more time with clients to better understand their situations. To expand the value for my clients I am also a Life Insurance Advisor with BMO Estate Insurance Advisory Services*. My designations and experience qualify me as a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

My wife Joanna and I have three children: Zoe, Aubrey, and Parker, who bring a joy to our lives we never thought possible. Joanna and I value family and work as a team as we enjoy our life adventures together. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, tennis, baseball, hockey, canoe tripping and spending time with family and friends.

I have great empathy for those struggling and less fortunate and hold an extended hand for charity, specifically those involved with mental illness and suicide prevention. A family tragedy led me to co-found "Put up your Dukes”, a third-party event for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) that helps fight the battle against mental illness.

My background helps me to frame important concepts meaningfully for people at all levels of financial acumen.

Having worked with more than a thousand advisors across various regulatory jurisdictions, I decided to join the Lewin Wealth Advisory Group because of the team’s dedication to put clients first and help them protect and grow their finances and optimize their futures.

I hold an MBA and an Honours Master of Science in Information Systems from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. I also hold an Honours BA in History from Western University and am a graduate of Upper Canada College (Class of 2000).
