Bruna Kubay, BA, CFP

Investment Advisor & Financial Planner

Bruna Kubay has more then 15 years of experience providing financial services and has been an Investment Advisor and Financial Planner with BMO Private Wealth since 2014. Bruna’s previous roles include Senior Financial Planner and Retirement Specialist at CIBC Imperial Service, Account Manager at BMO Financial Group and Financial Services Representative at RBC. Bruna teamed up with Neil Weedon to create the Weedon-Kubay Investment Group in 2020.
 
Bruna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies and Industrial Relations and a minor in English (Economics) from McMaster University, where she served on the Labour Studies Board. She also has a diploma in Arts and Sciences from Mohawk College, and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation. Bruna reads, writes and speaks Portuguese fluently and enjoys close ties with Hamilton’s Portuguese community.

 

As a long-time resident and supporter of Hamilton, Bruna is a former member of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations. She is an active volunteer at her children’s schools and supports CityKidz, which delivers monthly meal kits to Hamilton's low​-income children and families.

 

Bruna resides with her husband, Wesley, their three children, Mia, Madison and Mason, and their Labradoodle, Chase. In her spare time Bruna loves to travel, read a good book, tend her garden, and

explore the Turkey Point area of Lake Erie with the family in their Four Winns cruiser.

Neil Weedon, CFP

Investment Advisor And Financial Planner

Neil Weedon has more than 25 years of experience in helping affluent investors with investing and financial planning. After joining BMO Private Wealth Hamilton in 2015, Neil joined forces with Bruna Kubay to create the Weedon-Kubay Investment Group in November 2020.
 
Neil was born in Luton, England just north of London and moved to Canada in 1982 with his parents and sister. He earned a Business Administration and Management diploma from Sheridan College in Oakville, where he played varsity soccer. Neil started his career in Investor Relations for a mining consulting company and worked briefly with TD Bank before moving to CIBC, where he worked for almost 19 years as a Financial Planning Consultant and Financial Advisor.

Neil holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation conferred by FP Canada and the Registered Retirement Consultant designation conferred by the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning. He has served as Director of the Dean Kruger Memorial Trust in Oakville for more than a decade.

Neil and his wife Imka have two sons, Pyke and Ben. Outside of the office Neil enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hiking the Bruce Trail with his dog, Sam, gardening, and watching almost any sporting event.
 

Evan Hall, B.Comm.

Sales Assistant

Evan joined the Weedon-Kubay Investment Group in 2020 at BMO Private Wealth after working with RBC Dominion Securities during and after university. He is responsible for all aspects of our client service and administration and executes trades with precision. Evan is also very tech savvy, which helps enormously when we need to meet with clients virtually and sign documents electronically.
 
A Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University, Evan has completed his Canadian Securities and Conduct and Practices Handbook Courses with the Canadian Securities Institute. Keeping a sharp eye to the future, Evan is completing the Wealth Management Essentials course to obtain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation. He also plans to earn the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, earn his license as an Investment Advisor and become a key part of our team’s long-term continuity plan.

Evan grew up in Burlington and resides there currently. He is a very active and athletic individual who enjoys hockey, golf, football, soccer – and pretty much any sport you can think of. Evan loves travelling, getting up north to ski and snowboard in the winter, and scoring invitations to his friends’ cottages in the summer.
