We value the opportunity to work with you

Our introductory process helps us get to know each other and decide if we are the right fit.  We prioritize whatever is most important for you.  If you are getting ready to retire and need to sort out your company stock holdings and pension plans, we start there.  If you are having trouble keeping track of all your various investment accounts and need to consolidate, we start there.

Initial Conversation

We start by getting to know each other.  Whether by phone, online, or in-person we will discuss your financial goals and what is important to you & your family.  We will share our philosophy on planning and investing and how we are paid.  If we both feel there is good fit to working together, we can move on to the next steps.

Determine a Starting Point

The next step is to get into some more detail.  We will collect some financial information from you and get a better understanding of your financial goals, both in the short and longer term.  For many of clients, this was the first time they saw all the pieces of the financial lives in one place.

Build an Action Plan

At this point we have a clear picture of your current financial picture and what you hope to accomplish.  We will present this back to you in a concise and organized report complete with an action plan to tackle over the short, medium, and long term.  The plan provides guidance on key focus areas to achieve your financials goals and will demonstrate the impact of working with us.

Make a Decision

At this point we hope you will have all the information you need to decide if you would like to work with us.  However, if you need some time to decide, no pressure.  We have been working with families for over 25 years and we understand this is an important decision.

Put the Plan Into Action

Once we open your new accounts, we set you up on our online client portal so you not only have access to all your account and tax reporting information, but an online view of your financial plan.  We also begin to address the items in your action plan to ensure you move towards your goals.

Ongoing Work

The importance of this initial work becomes more and more clear over time.  Knowing you and your finances helps us help you effectively navigate the choice and opportunities you face.

Twice a year we reach out to you to schedule an in-depth meeting.  While this can take place in person, over the phone, or even virtually, whatever way we meet we use this time to understand what’s happening in your life and what actions we can take to support and protect you.  We will also report on the technical parts of your finances (think insurance, estate, debt, investments) and let you know of any actions or changes we recommend you make.

Because we understand your life doesn’t happen on our schedule, we are also available for you however many additional times that is right for you.  We want to be available for you when you need us and we have purposefully designed our business to do that.

We also ask that you let us know when you are looking for guidance for anything in your life.  A new career opportunity or early retirement?  Want to buy a vacation property?  Helping your kids or grandkids purchase a house?  Simply let us know and we can help you guide you through it.
