Born in Cuba, Steve became fluent in Spanish as his father’s work assignments moved their family to various locations such as Colombia, Venezuela, and Florida. Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours, from Queen’s University.
Steven joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1987, and in addition to providing financial advice to his private clients, he has had the privilege of serving in various management positions. In 1998 Steve was invited to become Manager of the St.Clair (Midtown) Branch of BMO Nesbitt Burns where he enjoyed coaching and supporting other Advisors until 2020. From 2010 to 2014, as a Divisional Manager, Steve was responsible for oversight of roughly 185 Advisors at 6 branch locations across the GTA. From 2018 to 2023 Steve served as a consultant to senior managers as a Regional Director of Advisory.
Steve was appointed a Managing Director in 2008, earned the Wealth Advisor designation in 2009, and in 2009 was also pleased to be awarded the inaugural “IIAC Industry Scholarship Award”. As winner, he was invited to attend a three-consecutive-year program, which took place each March at the Wharton School in Philadelphia.
In addition to constantly looking for ways to better serve the complex financial needs of our clients, Steve & his partner Julie spend most weekends showing gracious hospitality to their many friends, along with their large extended family.
