“Family” is a buzzword that gets thrown around frequently in our industry. But working with family defines Chrys’ very life story. His dad was an entrepreneur. Trained as an engineer, he pursued the Canadian dream by moving to Toronto, where he began delivering bread. Eventually, Chrys joined him. Waking up at 2:30 in the morning, he developed an appreciation for not just the physical demands of the job, but for the value of “true hard work”; as for each day’s help, he earned $1.

Working alongside his father got Chrys his start, but it later taught him the importance of a safety net. In his early 20s, his father’s company chose against renewing his franchise agreement. So he enrolled in the Schulich School of Business, earning a Masters of Business Administration. Maintaining the desire to help family, he then joined brother Peter in order to help with as many families as possible.

19 years into working alongside his brother, Chys maintains that desire more than ever. When he first joined the team, he says he envisioned the designation of a wealth advisor as purely that, managing wealth. In the years since, Chrys’ measure of success has expanded, however. Today, he says that the most rewarding part of his job is the small role he plays in helping each of his extended families make the most of their own ‘true hard work.’

Chrys’ goal is to help you become the hero of your own life’s story—however you envision your Canadian dream to look like. His responsibility simply is to protect you by building your safety net while also building durable long term wealth. Along the way, Chrys doesn’t believe in overwhelming families with technical jargon. Instead, his approach is simple: “be accessible when you need me and focus on giving you clarity. Over the years, I’ve gained insights that I want to pass along, insights that are intended to give you confidence that you are financially secure and that all avenues have been considered. I want to guide you into new financial directions you may not have explored before.”

Using his MBA specialization, Responsible Investment Specialist (RIS) designation, and nearly two decades of experience, Chys focuses on all that ‘wealth building’ entails, including estate planning, optimizing taxes, and comprehensive considerations surrounding foreign assets. He seeks to build short and long-term financial strategies while discussing environmental, social governance (ESG), and responsible investing concerns.

Chrys knows it takes years to build good trust: “That’s something I’ve learned firsthand, first from working alongside my father, and now my brother. Over our team’s journey, through sharing knowledge, challenging each other, and working together, we’ve been privileged to get to know the dreams and concerns of hundreds of members of our growing extended family. Now, I’d love the privilege of getting to know yours. Let's have a conversation.”
