Senior Investment Advisor & Senior Portfolio Manager

Paul Hartford has been advising affluent investors for 40 years. Set on being a broker from the age of 14, Paul earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor and worked at SC Johnson while hounding the brokerages of downtown Toronto for an entrance position. He identified our predecessor firm, Burns Fry, as his employer of choice and achieved his dream by being hired in 1982.

Today, having successfully navigated clients through various financial crises for four decades, Paul advises a significant number of long-term, loyal clients and their families across the globe. He has been a Branch Manager and formerly served for two years as the firm’s liaison to the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). Yet, Paul’s true passion and focus has always been advising private individuals and families.

Paul’s credentials include the Portfolio Manager’s accreditation, the Professional Financial Planner (PFP®) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®) designations, and his Life Insurance license with BMO Nesbitt Burns Financial Services Inc.

Paul and his wife have two sons and a daughter. An avid golfer who enjoys supporting charity golf tournaments, Paul gives back to his community by supporting the charitable causes that matter most to his clients.

Kevan Hartford, MBA, BSc Eng, CFA®

Investment Advisor & Portfolio Manager

Kevan Hartford’s diverse background in institutional money management, strategic leadership, financial analysis, and fixed income brings our team an extra measure of rigour and acumen. Prior to joining Paul Hartford Wealth Management early in 2022, Kevan worked with BMO Private Wealth managing over $1.8 billion of assets across various mandates for ultra-high net worth private investors, corporations, foundations, hospitals, and non-profits. He also helped develop the firm’s fixed income strategy; penned our weekly credit newsletter; and led credit analysis and strategy for the firm.

Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, Kevan was an analyst and trader with a fixed income boutique. Kevan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Queen’s University, where he belonged to the Finance Club and achieved the distinction of graduating Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)*. Kevan also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.

Kevan resides in Oakville with his wife and their young son and, when time allows, hits the golf course to improve his game. He and his family often visit the nearby Halton Conservation areas, where his wife volunteers planting trees and removing invasive species.

Bevis Bullock

Investment Advisor

Highly experienced in multiple aspects of the investment industry, Bevis Bullock is an invaluable contributor to our team. His humble, down-to-earth nature belies his significant achievements.

Bevis began his career in 1986 at Burns Fry and joined Paul Hartford Wealth Management in 2017 after spending many years in institutional equities with BMO Capital Markets, where he was Managing Director. During this time, he advised portfolio managers and traders and gained a deep understanding of business building, the capital markets, underwriting, the stock and bond markets and equity investing. Bevis also spent a decade as a BMO liability trader, managing the firm’s capital with a focus on oil and gas and other resources. His expertise also includes mutual funds, preferred shares and derivatives.

In 2015, Bevis was recognized by Brendan Wood International as a Top Gun Sell-Side Trader of Canadian Equities as selected by Buy-Side Traders, bringing tremendous distinction to BMO Capital Markets.

Bevis holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor, resides in Oakville with his wife, and has four grown children – two daughters and two sons. Bevis likes to unwind by hiking, sailing Lake Ontario, golfing, and skiing in the Collingwood area. He and his wife are is active supporters of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Diane Lui

Investment Representative

Diane Lui is quite simply the glue that holds our team together. Friendly and efficient, Diane triages our clients’ needs, gets things done quickly and precisely, sends out emails and thank-you cards, identifies opportunities for our clients, and executes our Canadian and US trades – all with a smile. She is the crème de la crème of responsiveness and is a key reason our team is known for excellent service.

Diane joined BMO Nesbitt Burns and our team in November 2010 after graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. As well as holding responsibility for our overall administrative duties and client documentation, she liaises with our clients’ accountants and lawyers to ensure they have the proper documentation and correct, updated information.

Diane lives in Markham with her husband and young son. They love to travel and especially enjoy touring Europe.
