Mike McPhillips, M.Sc., CIM, FCSI
Senior Portfolio Manager
Michael is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and he completed graduate studies at the London School of Economics, earning a Masters of Science (Economics).
After four years as an analyst at a major Canadian multinational, Michael joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1983 as an Investment Advisor. Beginning in 1986, he has held a number of management positions within the Private Client Division. Mike has been managing client portfolios exclusively since 1997.
Hani Zakaria, CFA
Hani holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Specialization in Finance and in Management, from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto. He is also a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charterholder.
While completing his B.Comm, Hani was selected through Rotman for an internship position with the firm and remains a dedicated team member today, eight years later in his full-time Investment Advisory position. The breadth of his CFA & university training in Investment Management and Capital Markets, coupled with the practical experience he gained at BMO Nesbitt Burns provide a valuable combination of academic insights and real world know-how.
In his time away from the office, Hani has acted on both stage and television as well as being an accomplished musician. Some of Hani’s philanthropic passions include the Bay Street Performers, benefitting Arts For Children And Youth, as well as the Friends For Life Bike Rally, benefitting the Toronto People With Aids Foundation.
Sam completed his Bachelor of Commerce at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. He has been with BMO since 2018, starting out in retail banking and most recently in commercial lending operations. Prior to joining the bank, Sam had been managing marketing and communications for a non-profit organization and continues to be active in his church community. He loves a great conversation so feel free to reach out to him for a chat!
Kristy graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Certificate in the Psychology of Economics and Management. She was involved in several leadership roles which provided business and health science learning opportunities for high school and post-secondary students.
In addition to her academic background, Kristy has also worked throughout university in the leasing and finance division of a major auto company thereby bringing hands-on financial experience to our team. Prior to joining the team full-time she worked with BMO Nesbitt Burns as a summer intern.
Outside the office, Kristy is a high-performance car enthusiast. She enjoys spending her summer weekends at car racing and exhibition events.
