Melanie R. Segal, CIM

Senior Portfolio Manager & Senior Investment Advisor

Melanie Segal is a dedicated and loyal investment advisor. She began her career in the investment industry in 1994, joining what was then Burns Fry – she has the distinction of having been at BMO Nesbitt Burns for her whole career. It is with this same dedication and philosophy that she treats her clientele.
 
Melanie's clients consist of high net worth families, professionals and charities. With a fine balance of closely listening to her clients and actively providing valuable advice, she specializes in building portfolios that cater to her client’s individual goals and needs. As a Portfolio Manager with discretionary capabilities, Melanie is able to make investment decisions on her client’s behalf, allowing her clients to focus on their families, work, and life. With this in mind, her focus is on the preservation of capital and doing what is right for the client.
 
Prior to joining the investment industry, she worked in commercial real estate in her native city of Montreal, as well as in the Maritimes and Eastern Ontario. Melanie holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario and the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. She is actively involved with the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), through which she has studied at Harvard University with the Leading High Growth Businesses programs versions 1.0 and 2.0.  Melanie was a member of the Board of Directors of First Narayever Congregation, and has engaged with other organizations performing charitable work in Ethiopia, the former Soviet Union, Israel, Lithuania and Poland.
 
Melanie lives in Toronto with her husband Dan and their two daughters. With a clear perspective on what is important in life, after losing her father in 2016 Melanie and her family visited Australia to meet a gentleman who survived the Holocaust with Melanie’s father.

Robert Folliott, CIM

Senior Investment Associate and Associate Portfolio Manager

Robert joined the Segal Wealth Management team in 2011. With extensive experience and knowledge in investment management, Robert brings research and portfolio ideas to the team and commits his unique skills and experiences to provide the best possible advice and service to clients.

Robert has experience as a proprietary trader, utilizing his acute attention to constant changes in the stock markets and the economy. Robert holds his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, a business degree from York University, and an international business diploma from the MIB School of Management in northern Italy.

Robert lives in Toronto with his wife Neena and their beautiful twins, Nathan and Layla. He is also an avid long distance runner.

Dan Stern

Associate

Dan joined the Segal Wealth Management team in 2017 with a focus on business development.  He has over 20 years as a professional in community leadership and management, having worked in Jewish communities in Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Toronto.  Dan’s experience in fundraising, client relations and organizational management bring a fresh perspective to the investment team and work group.
 
Before joining the team Dan was the Toronto Executive Director of the Jerusalem Foundation of Canada, prior to which he was the Director of Regional Development of Jewish Federations Canada-United Israel Appeal.  He holds a B.A. from The Ohio State University and a Master of Public Policy & Management from the University of Pittsburgh.  Dan volunteers as an officer on the Board of Directors at the Canadian Committee for Tel Aviv Foundation, and sits on several committees at the Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School.
 
Dan lives in Toronto with his wife Melanie and enjoys an active family life with their two daughters.

Anastasia Kavytska, CIM®

Investment Associate (Senior)

Anastasia began her career at Ernst & Young in the Financial Accounting Advisory Services division, then led securities settlement operations for an American-owned broker-dealer firm in Ukraine. She gained in-depth analytical skills while working as a Portfolio Associate in New York City, where she assisted with portfolio construction and analysis.

Before joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2021, she worked as a Financial Planning Associate at both BMO Bank of Montreal and TD Wealth.

Anastasia holds a Masters Degree in International Business Management from National Technical University of Ukraine and the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation. She completed Level 1 of the CFA® program and uses her knowledge & experience to best service the needs of our clients.

Rey Domondon

Administration Assistant (not licensed)

Rey joined the Segal Wealth Management team in 2017. With a keen sense of attention to detail, he is able to anticipate client needs from a broad perspective. He provides client documentation service and research support in investments.

Rey has previously worked at other financial institutions within their operations departments. With over 10 years of those experiences, his extensive knowledge and back office expertise is a great asset to the team.
Rey currently lives in Mississauga and enjoys traveling and golfing on his downtime. However, his main pastime is exploring new cafés and restaurants with family and friends.

Saul Weiss, CFA, CAIA, CFP®

Senior Investment Associate

Saul joined the Segal Wealth Management Team in 2023. He brings with him 11 years of wealth management experience as an Associate Wealth Advisor at RBC Dominion Securities. Saul is focused on providing our clients with holistic wealth management to make sure all aspects of their wealth are working cohesively. He enjoys working with clients to identify complicated wealth challenges and coordinating solutions to resolve these challenges.

Saul is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Charterholder (CAIA) and holds his Certified Financial Planner certification (CFP) and continues to take industry designations to further his knowledge to serve our clients.

In Saul’s free time he enjoys swimming, cycling, running and employing his private pilots license.

Client Service Associate (Senior)

Bill joined the Segal Wealth Management team in 2024, bringing over 10 years of dedicated experience in the banking industry, working in a variety of departments across the sector. These experiences give Bill a unique insight into solving often complex requests, bringing an attention to detail and commitment to customer service that aims to provide clients with the very best experience at every level.

Bill graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Financial Marketing diploma from George Brown College, having worked most recently in the Private Banking division at TD Wealth.

Bill lives in Toronto and plays the violin, enjoys cooking, and spending time with friends and family in his spare time.
