Mark MacDonald, CFA, MBA

Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor

Mark has been in the financial services industry since 2006 and has an extensive background in wealth management, banking and fixed income trading.

As a Portfolio Manager, Mark is responsible for understanding all of his clients’ financial goals and constructing portfolios to help them meet those goals.  Mark works closely with each client to build an Investment Policy Statement that takes into account their individual investment objectives and risk parameters.  Mark believes that managing risk is as important as managing returns.  He is passionate about ensuring clients are well-educated when it comes to wealth management, and he believes the more a client understands the process, the more informed decisions they can make.

Mark has a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, from Brock University.  He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation and has completed a number of other industry courses.

Mark decided to join BMO Nesbitt Burns because of the entrepreneurial environment, the support from BMO Bank of Montreal and the Bank’s partners, and the investment platform.

When Mark isn’t busy managing portfolios, he spends his summers golfing with his son and winters are spent driving him to hockey.  Mark also enjoys reading, watching sports, staying active and spending time with family and friends.
