Lee Harwood, CFP, CIM, FCSI

Senior Wealth Advisor

Lee has been in the industry since 1981.  Throughout his career he has managed sinking funds, defeasance funds, pension funds, endowment funds, and family office and private client portfolios.  In 1994, he formed the Harwood Group, creating a distinct wealth management platform to provide institutional structure and discipline to private clients.  Lee works in concert with a highly skilled team of professionals who help deliver every facet of the wealth management offering.  He has been a keynote speaker at a number of conferences in Canada and the US on building a wealth management practice. He has been a panelist for a number of AIMA conferences on alternative investing.  In addition, he has been a guest lecturer on organizational finance at the Rowe School of Business MBA Program at Dalhousie University.  Lee has always been committed to community involvement and as such, has donated his time and resources to a variety of deserving institutions in education, the arts, heritage and sports.

Recently, he has been actively involved in the fundraising efforts of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Dalhousie University Women’s Athletics, Dalhousie University Women in Leadership, the Provincial Autism Centre and the Acadia University Women’s Athletics.  In 2014, Lee was nominated for the Maritime Philanthropy Awards as Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser.  He won the Maritime Philanthropy award the following year in 2015, and in 2018, he was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award for Nova Scotia Volleyball at the Support 4 Sport Awards.
 

Sarah Rosenberg, MA, CIM, CAIA

Senior Investment Associate

Sarah graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science with First-Class Honours in Economics and the University Medal in Economics from Dalhousie University.  In 2007 she received a Master of Arts in Economics from McGill University.  Since joining the Harwood Group in 2007, she has earned her Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute and her Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter from the CAIA Association.

Sarah works in collaboration with Lee to actively manage and review portfolios.  She participates in developing and analyzing our clients’ investment strategies to maintain their investment objectives.  In her spare time, Sarah is involved in several activities across Canada for people with disabilities and is an avid dog-lover and reader.

Meling Tom

Senior Client Service Associate

Meling has been in the financial industry since 1997.  She has completed her Professional Financial Planning and Wealth Management Essentials courses from the Canadian Securities Institute and is able to provide life insurance recommendations.

Meling's responsibilities include executing trades, operations, foreign exchange and portfolio evaluations.  With over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, Meling coordinates the administration of client accounts demonstrating professionalism, efficiency and attention to detail to ensure the highest level of customer service.

In addition, Meling has volunteered with the Kids Help Phone and the Big Brothers Big Sisters fundraising events.  Meling enjoys spending time in Halifax with her two children and lingering over a good book or a gourmet meal cooked by her husband, Michael.
