Senior Portfolio Manager & Senior Wealth Advisor

Jan is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Wealth Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns.

With over 25 years of experience in the investment business Jan has the knowledge and expertise to guide her clients through the Financial Planning and Portfolio Management process. She helps make personal and financial goals a reality. 

Jan graduated from UBC with a Bachelor's Degree and has completed the Investment and Portfolio Management course, the Professional Financial Planning course and the Wealth Advisory course.

Jan grew up in Vancouver and enjoys spending time in the mountains and on the ocean. She is an avid cyclist and was a fishing guide in her past life. 

Adam Canning

Investment Advisor & Associate Portfolio Manager

Adam joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2011. He grew up in North Vancouver and obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Capilano University.

He is an Investment Advisor & Associate Portfolio Manager who holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation.

He is responsible for the wealth planning, investment and wealth management needs of our clientele.

In his spare time Adam enjoys exploring the surrounding mountains, sport fishing and spending time at his cabin on the Sunshine Coast.

Jane Thomson

Associate

Jane joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in January 2023, with two years of experience working in the financial services industry.

Jane graduated from Queen’s University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science and Economics. She is currently working towards completing all of her industry courses.

Currently, Jane is responsible for the day to day service of our clients and their administrative needs.

In her spare time, Jane enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring beautiful BC, and reading a good book.

Paulina Labelle

Client Service Associate

Paulina Bustillo Labelle joined the financial industry in 2013 and has since developed extensive experience in client service and administration. Her comprehensive industry knowledge and meticulous attention to detail allow her to effectively support clients’ diverse financial needs.

 

Originally from Mexico, Paulina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Diploma in Financial Management from Langara College. She has also completed multiple professional development courses through the Canadian Securities Institute, further enhancing her expertise in the financial sector.

 

Outside of work, Paulina enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations with her husband and two children.

Sangzi Zhou

Director, Estate Planning at BMO Private Wealth

Sangzi Zhou is the Director, Estate Planning at BMO Private Wealth, based in Vancouver. She supports private wealth clients across British Columbia markets and the Edmonton market with their estate planning needs, collaborating closely with investment advisors, lawyers, and accountants to structure tailored estate plans.

 

Before stepping into her current role, Sangzi worked as a Senior Trust Officer with BMO Trust Company, where she oversaw complex estate and trust matters. Prior to joining BMO, she practiced at a full service law firm in Vancouver, focusing on trust and estate planning, administration, and real estate matters. She is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

 

Sangzi is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and speaks conversational French. Outside the office, she enjoys sharpening her photography skills, travelling to new destinations, and discovering new restaurants.
