Giving Back to Our Community

Over the years, The Oyler MacDougall Group has had a growing commitment to the community through annual contributions made to local charities on behalf of our clients. The Oyler MacDougall Group has contributed to organizations such as: The United Way, The Lung Association, Brigadoon Village, Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia, NSCAD University and Alice House.

 

On behalf of our clients, we feel that it is important to share with our surrounding community to try and enrich the lives of others, and provide care and support for community members not as fortunate by supporting such positive organizations. We hope through our support and contributions the members of the greater Halifax community are able to seek help, participate or volunteer with the services and activities provided through such amazing non-profits.

 

In past years, we have also made donations to the Phoenix Youth Foundation, the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank, the YWCA Halifax, The Halifax Assistance Fund and Brunswick Street Mission.

 

The United Way - Halifax

Focuses on improving lives locally by moving people from poverty to possibility, helping kids be all they can be and building strong and healthy communities.

 

The Lung Association of Nova Scotia

Dedicated to promoting lung health and preventing and managing lung disease. The Lung Association seeks to improve respiratory health by education, research, training, treatment and prevention of lung disease.

 

Brigadoon Village

A camp in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, that offers children and youth living with chronic illnesses and other life challenges an opportunity to feel ordinary. It has been in operation since 2011. They offer summer camps, family camps, off-season camps as well as leadership programs. No camper in Atlantic Canada will ever be turned away due to their financial situation.

 

Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia

This organization works with newcomers to Nova Scotia to help them build a future in Canada. They have served immigrants in Nova Scotia for over 50 years. They provide services such as refugee resettlement, language instruction for newcomers to Canada, family counseling, and pre-employment services.

 

NSCAD University

The university is situated on the Halifax waterfront and became the first degree granting art school in Canada. NSCAD currently offers graduate and undergraduate degree programs in fine and media arts, craft, design and art history. NSCAD supports the next generation of creative thinkers who enrich our communities.

 

Alice House

A local organization that provides a safe, non-judgmental environment for women and children leaving abusive relationships. They provide safe, affordable housing and counseling for up to two years so families are able to recover from abuse so that violence does not have to frame their future.
