As the leader of the Chattell Wealth Advisory Group, Ian brings 25 years of experience in Financial Services and advising clients on their path to and through retirement. He loves working with people and helping them achieve their goals and enjoying the lifestyle that they planned for.
While running his own business, Ian completed his education in Economics at Simon Fraser University and went on to specialize in Financial Planning and Portfolio Management. He worked diligently for another major Canadian bank as a Financial Advisor focusing on banking, lending, and investment advising. With 15 years currently with BMO Nesbitt Burns, Ian brings experience, knowledge, and integrity to his clients in an ever-changing world.

In addition to being a Portfolio Manager, Ian is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and is recognized as a Certified Investment Manager by the Financial Planners Standards Council and the Canadian Securities Institute.
Ian is a person who likes to get things done. Outside of the office, Ian is actively involved in his community. He previously spent 10 years with the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation where, as Chair, he oversaw a complete restructuring of the organization that has led it to be one of the top charitable foundations in the city of Langley. They recently completed a 17 million dollar capital campaign after the successful completion of a 5 million dollar capital campaign.
Ian has previously spent many years engaged in the local sports leagues as a coach and mentor in three different leagues. He was a soccer coach for 7 years with Langley United Youth Soccer Association. Ian also previously spent 8 years with the Valley Ball Hockey Association and even a few years coaching with the Langley Minor Hockey Association. Although they have outgrown their sports today, these were some of the best times.
Ian has been living in the Fraser Valley for over 30 years and loves the community. His wife, Lisa is an amazing individual who teaches Microbiology at the local University. Ian and Lisa are proud of their two sons, Geoffrey and Marcus who are hard-working in their athletics and school. During their time off, the family can usually be found in the backcountry where they enjoy the outdoors and all that BC has to offer.
