Christine D. Fortin, B.Comm., FCSI, PFP, FMA, CIM

Senior Wealth Advisor, Associate Portfolio Manager & Financial Planner

Christine has been a disruptor in the private wealth industry for over 25 years, offering institutional-grade portfolio management, strategic and straightforward counsel, and a higher standard of service, transparency, and value-delivery for her roster of quietly wealthy clients.

She’s led the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group to be among the top 20 teams in Canada, gaining national recognition as a thought-leader and innovator. One of a select few appointed to the BMO Private Wealth Investment Advisor Advisory Council, her input directly shapes the firm’s internal and industry initiatives and direction, and enables her to advocate at the highest level for an improved client experience.

Christine is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®), the top honour and most senior credential in Canadian financial services, attesting to her advanced education, ethical conduct, industry experience, and peer endorsement. Committed to continuous learning, she’s earned several other leading industry designations, including Personal Financial Planner (PFP®), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), and has completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) program.

Initially joining the financial industry on the institutional side, Christine gained experience in the U.S. as a derivatives and options analyst, spending time in Taipei developing a portfolio for institutional investors. She then joined RBC Capital Markets in Toronto on the fast-paced foreign exchange desk, before moving to Global Asset Management to help institutional clients and multinational corporations manage their fixed income, currency, and hedge strategies in the domestic and global capital markets. Driven to apply her institutional experience to empower private investors, Christine joined BMO Nesbitt Burns White Rock in 1997, creating the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group.

Christine now resides in Crescent Beach with her husband, Kent, and her young son, Kase. They love international travel as well as relaxing at their BC interior chalet; skiing at Sun Peaks in winter and soaking up Heffley Lake in summer. Outside of the office—proudly located in White Rock—you can often find Christine cheering on Kase at a football game, enjoying her own athletic pursuits, or cooking up a gourmet meal.

Ryan N. Lidder, B.Comm., CFP, CIM

Senior Wealth Associate & Financial Planner

Passionate about capturing every opportunity, Ryan brings his clients a dedication to the details in wealth advisory and investing—from the minutiae of cash management for tax purposes, to finding insights modelling scenarios in a financial roadmap.

He is also an expert in strategic planning. Ryan joined the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group after serving as a Director of Wealth Planning with BMO Private Wealth, and previously spent five years as a Financial Planner working out of BMO’s flagship Vancouver Main Office branch. While an Associate Advisor, he specialized in high-net-worth financial plans and tailored portfolios. Beginning his career at BMO in 2012—while completing a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Finance and Economics—he’s spent over a decade serving clients with complex, generational wealth.

He adds to this his own lived experience as part of a successful entrepreneurial family. Interested in investing from a young age, he was encouraged to assist in developing and managing portfolios for his family, implementing strategies for safeguarding and growing wealth across multiple generations. It taught him the value of succession planning, and having the right wealth management team to provide guidance and solutions—and inspired his career decision to provide that direct value himself.

A Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), he has the knowledge, skills, experience and ethics to evaluate a client’s complete financial picture at the highest level of complexity, and manage all aspects of their investment portfolio on a discretionary basis.

Born in B.C. and raised in the Northern community of Quesnel, Ryan spent his childhood playing sports and working in many of his family’s businesses. Today, Ryan resides in Surrey with his wife Amm, and daughters Aanya and Reyna. On the weekends you can find him playing hockey in Burnaby or out with the family for a nice hike followed by a large family dinner.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, with a concentration in Finance and International Business. Earning a Certificate in Advanced Investment Advice in 2023, Jordan is working towards his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation.

Born and raised in Langley, B.C., he is an avid snowboarder in the winter and grew up playing competitive volleyball in the summer. The middle of three children, he enjoys dinners surrounded by family, and spending time with his friends on the basketball court.

Dylan Farrago, BASc

Client Service Associate

Dylan is critical to keeping the machine running efficiently. A diligent problem solver, he’s the first call for requests from clients and their professionals. He works behind the scenes supporting Christine and Ryan, and steps in to assist our service team on administrative items when needed—acting as a key bridge across our entire system.

After earning a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Biomedical Materials Engineering from UBC, Dylan decided to apply his analytical thinking skills to a different passion: supporting families with their wealth goals. He focused his efforts on transitioning into finance, joining the Fortin Wealth Advisory Group after gaining client service experience in personal banking and earning accreditations to solidify his foundational knowledge.

A native of Long Island, New York, Dylan moved to Vancouver with his family when he was 18. In his free time, he can often be found keeping active in the gym or playing various sports, but he is always most excited to take his snowboard out and shred the slopes in the winter.
