Bassim Nahhas, BA, MA

Senior Investment Advisor

Bassim is the head of The Nahhas Paterson Group and has been helping clients navigate the complex landscape of wealth management since first joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1994.  He brings with him over 25 years of experience in a proven portfolio management and investing process, utilized globally by pension plans and institutions alike.

Bassim believes in building relationships.  He enjoys working with business owners, farmers, professionals, retirees and not-for-profit organizations, helping clients reach their financial goals and serving as a trusted advisor throughout changes in business, and in life.

Prior to entering the investment management industry, Bassim completed a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Victoria, and a Master of Arts from Georgetown University.  A resident of North Burnaby, Bassim is a proud father of three children, Nadine (22), Omar (19) and Yasmine (19).  Outside the office, he is an avid hiker, dancer, seasoned world traveller and has a passion for healthy living, supporting local growers and community farmer’s markets.

Jayson Paterson, B.Comm.

Investment Advisor

Jayson has a passion for developing strong relationships with clients.  Having first joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2009, he brings with him extensive experience from previous roles in operations, business development, financial planning and investment advisory.  As Investment Advisor and Partner in The Nahhas Paterson Group, Jayson focuses on client relationship management, contributes to portfolio strategy and due diligence and collaborates with partners to address matters related to taxation and banking.  Jayson has a proven track record of delivering for clients, having been recognized internally with the BMO Spotlight Award several times and most notably as a recipient of the 2019 Support Team Award which recognizes the top 10% of eligible employees for exceptional performance.

Jayson holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, with a double major in Finance and Marketing.  In keeping with his commitment to ongoing professional development, he has completed extensive coursework through the Canadian Securities Institute in financial planning, investment management, compliance and industry regulation.

Residing in South Surrey with his fiancé Heather, Jayson takes immense pride in the community we serve and is a proud supporter and advocate of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).  As a Seattle Seahawks season ticket holder and a Players Club Tour member at Morgan Creek Golf Course, he enjoys spending his free time working on his golf game and taking in local sporting events.

Meena Patel

Administration Associate

Meena is crucial member of our team where she provides administrative and operational support to ensure that everything is running smoothly and seamlessly.   She has completed the Canadian Securities Course in compliance and industry regulation and is currently Investment Representative licensed.  Meena is a strong believer that knowledge is wealth and continues to push herself.

 

Meena is originally from the United Kingdom where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems Design. Prior to moving to Canada in 2006, she worked in the technology industry for more than 15 years. Once landed in Canada, she decided to focus on raising her daughter and do something that she truly enjoys, which is making Artisan Chocolate. She successfully started and operated the business for more than 4 years before she decided to get back into the corporate world and joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2019.
Meena lives in South Surrey with husband, Vish and daughter, Rhienna.
 
In her spare time Meena enjoys cooking, hiking, spending time with family and friends and has recently taken up pickle ball.
