The BMO Nesbitt Burns Architect Program. This was the first full-featured unified managed account in Canada. It provides you with access to institutional-calibre investment managers, enhanced diversification and active portfolio oversight. Portfolios are rebalanced quarterly to maintain your stated objectives as well as year-end tax harvesting, which minimizes tax reporting. Architect allows us to combine a variety of managers with different areas of specialization, in one account and to use specialized mutual funds for some investment categories that perhaps are not large enough in the portfolio to warrant using individual stocks or bonds. The mutual funds are held in the same account as the managed stocks or bonds. Finally, it even allows us to use low-cost exchange traded funds (ETFs) to build broad diversification in an investment category at a very low cost. This account provides you with access to portfolios featuring a flexible combination of individual securities, ETFs and mutual funds. In collaboration with you, we will structure portfolios with the characteristics necessary to achieve strong performance over time. Investment management fees are fully disclosed and tax deductible in your non-registered accounts. The goal is to put you and our team on the same side of the table, so that we are aligned in achieving your stated objectives.
