Dave Turner
Senior Investment Advisor
Dave has over 30+ years of experience as an Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns. Dave has an Investment style focused on income generation and conservative growth, understanding that capital preservation is essential for building wealth over the long term.
Through Dave’s long work experience in the Investment Industry, he has dealt with a full spectrum of clients through various stages of their journey toward building financial independence; saving for a child’s education, advising adult children on reaching financial goals, guiding mature clients on building a retirement plan and finally, deploying the assets in the most effective way to fund retirement. Estate planning, financial planning and tax-effective strategies are considered through each stage. Dave can say that he has knowledge and experience advising in these stages because he has gone through them personally or with family members, many of whom are well into their late 90s.
After graduating from Concordia University, Dave started his career as a Mining Geologist, working across Canada from the Yukon to Labrador. He then moved to Calgary, where he worked as a Petroleum Geologist for several years. His interest in business, markets and investing led him to make a career change. Family and friends are important to Dave. He enjoys long walks, reading non-fiction and discussing life and world events over coffee or dinner (though he says his wife does all the cooking). Markets are exciting enough for Dave, so his perfect holiday is cruising, where he can just relax and make no decisions.

Karl Armstrong
Investment Advisor
After graduating from The University of Calgary in 2014, Karl joined BMO Nesbitt Burns to begin his career as an Investment Advisor. Since then, it has become clear to him that this is a lifelong position, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. As years go by, Karl’s passion for the role continually grows as he sees the difference he is making in people’s lives. Outside of his professional life, Karl is an avid golfer and sports fan. During the “off-seasons”, he can be found planning a golf trip down south or an annual visit to Buffalo to support his beloved Bills.

Marie Ann Turner
Sr. Client Service Associate
Marie Ann has over 25+ years of experience within the Investment Industry, where she works closely with Advisors and their team members. In addition to supporting them, her focus is on maintaining communication and building relationships with clients to ensure that all requests are processed promptly and efficiently.
She graduated from Concordia University in Montreal, where she met her future husband, Dave. She also worked as a Geologist for many years until taking time off to raise their young family. During this transition period, Dave asked her if she was interested in making a career change to work with him. She said the decision was a “no-brainer.” She retrained, got her license and CIM accreditation and has never looked back.
In her life outside work, Marie Ann and her family support animal welfare. The family fostered 12 mother cats and kittens (thankfully not all at once) for the Meow Foundation. They eventually adopted four wonderful cats into their home. When she became an “empty nester”, Marie Ann discovered Line dancing, and a new world opened up for her, filled with music, laughter and friendship. Marie Ann dances several times a week and says she’s making up for lost time. For relaxation, Marie Ann loves to read with a glass of wine in one hand and a cat on her lap. Her current favourite authors are Louise Penny, David Baldacci, Philip Pullman …and too many others to name.
