Tim Girling has been gathering experience in the investment industry for almost 30 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he played varsity soccer, Tim spent a year working at a private school in Geneva, Switzerland as a soccer coach and resident supervisor while also travelling extensively.

Tim began his financial career in 1994 with Global Strategy (later acquired by AGF Funds Inc.), where he helped to manage the diverse needs of private clients, Portfolio Managers and investment funds. He was invited to move to Vancouver to join independent investment boutique Marleau, Lemire Securities, where he focused on small-cap, emerging tech, healthcare, and mining companies as a retail and institutional Investment Advisor. Next, Tim spent more than 24 years with CIBC Wood Gundy as an Investment Advisor building long-standing relationships with a broad range of clients and institutions.

Tim joined BMO Nesbitt Burns at BMO Private Wealth in 2023 to bring his clients a wider suite of services with a more collaborative approach and enjoy greater entrepreneurial scope. He holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.

Tim and his two teen daughters reside in mid-town Toronto. A former fundraiser and general assistant for the North Toronto Nitros, where his daughter played highly competitive soccer, Tim still enjoys hitting the pitch today.
