His local insight is backed by institutional-grade investment experience from with one of the world's largest asset management firms.
Scott continues the legacy of client service and community commitment established by his predecessor, Karen O’Coin, who entrusted her practice to him upon her retirement in 2025. Together, they were proud to be recognized by BMO Private Wealth for Distinguished Client Loyalty, a testament to their exceptional client focus.
Scott’s expertise is built on a foundation of elite industry experience, including time spent in Toronto alongside top-tier portfolio managers overseeing some of Canada's largest pension funds. A Portfolio Manager who holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, Scott is qualified to manage portfolios on a discretionary basis, freeing clients from day-to-day decisions while he operates within a strict, personalized Investment Policy Statement built around their unique objectives.
Originally from the area, Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Laurentian University and is a Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®). He's deeply invested in the local community, serving as Vice Chair of the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation Board and as past President and current Board and Executive Committee member of the Orillia Chamber of Commerce.
Scott attended high school in Barrie and resides in Orillia with his wife Katie and their two children, Oliver and Violet. He enjoys staying fit at the gym, mountain biking, and trying to teach his kids to golf. As a former ski racer who coached at the Pine Ridge and Georgian Peaks Ski Clubs, Scott likes getting the family out onto the slopes and travels west to ski with friends every year.
Jennifer Hiltz-Kane, PFP, BBA (Fin)
Investment Advisor
As a lifelong Orillia resident, Jennifer Hiltz-Kane understands what matters most to successful business owners, medical professionals, and families in our community. She provides comprehensive wealth strategies that go beyond investment management—offering everything from commercial borrowing consultation to complete financial planning under one roof.
Jennifer's approach is refreshingly straightforward: she looks at your complete financial picture to identify the most effective strategies. Whether you're considering a major purchase, planning for retirement, or navigating complex business financing, she'll determine the smartest path forward—like whether it makes more sense to borrow rather than liquidate assets from your portfolio.
Her expertise stems from over a decade in financial services, including senior roles at BMO, where she has managed high-net-worth client portfolios and served as a Director in Commercial Account Management, and at BDC, where she managed a portfolio of mid-sized business and provided leveraged financing to spark growth. Her background in both commercial lending and private banking gives her a unique perspective on solving complex financial challenges. In 2023, Jennifer earned the Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute and in 2024, she joined the Walker Wealth Management Group (formerly O’Coin Walker & Associates). Her commitment to client relationships helped the team to earn the BMO Private Wealth award for Distinguished Client Loyalty in 2025.
Born and raised in Orillia and educated at Hillcrest Public School and ODCVI before earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University, Jennifer's roots run deep in this community. As an active Rotary Club member, she is incoming Chair of the Social Committee and serves on the Vocational Committee, partnering with high schools and workforce initiatives to foster career and economic success. Jennifer also provides governance support for COPE Service Dogs.
When she's not helping clients or volunteering, you'll find Jennifer boating, travelling, or spending time outdoors with her husband Harrison, young daughter Lyla, and their Golden Retriever, Tally.
