Joe Quinn, CIM, FCSI

Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Investment Advisor

Joe is a portfolio manager with over 30 years of investment management experience. Over his tenure at BMO, Joe has helped his client base build their wealth through investment growth and inter-generational planning. As a member of BMO's Corporate Finance Division's Entrepreneurial Strategy Group, Joe has assisted in successful business succession and sale transactions in excess of $1Billion. His skillsets are well-recognized as being among the top in our firm. 

Outside the office, Joe is an avid fisherman, which has taken him to waters all around the world. He has also been involved with numerous charities over the years. Joe’s wife, Joanna, is a professor at Western University where she serves as Director of The Centre for Transitional Justice and Post-Conflict Reconstruction.  Dr. Quinn’s field research is primarily based in Uganda, and this has allowed Joe and Joanna to travel throughout Africa and elsewhere.  

Geoffrey Cardy, CPA, MBA

Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Investment Advisor

Geoffrey has 20 years of industry experience, the past 18 of which have been at BMO. Portfolio management supported by insightful research have been the foundations underpinning Geoff’s recognized successes. Geoffrey received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from Western University, his MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

For the past 10 years, Geoffrey has been a supporter of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation; as an avid cyclist, he has helped raise over $1,000,000 in support of cancer research, and care facilities. Geoff has been a Board Member of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation’s Ride to Conquer Cancer Advisory Committee, and is the current Honorary Vice-Chair of the Hospital’s Northern Pass ride.

Geoffrey is active in other areas of his community. He was a Board Member of The Little Lake Joseph Association, has been a contributing member of the Granite Club’s Squash Committee, and was Chairperson for the 2015 season. Geoffrey currently sits on the Granite Club’s Audit, Risk & Insurance Committee, as a member advisor. 

Meredith Roberts

Senior Investment Associate

Meredith has worked at BMO Nesbitt Burns for over 30 years helping clients manage and grow their wealth. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from York University, has completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Professional Planning course, and holds the Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) Designation.

Meredith is committed to building solid, lasting relationships by providing informed advice, building sound financial plans, and promptly assisting our clients with a myriad of administrative issues. This also involves monitoring accounts on an ongoing basis to take advantage of opportunities and changing market conditions as they arise. As a Senior Investment Associate, in addition to a mother, a homeowner, and a fitness buff, Meredith has the skillset and knowledge to assist with our client’s wealth management needs and the experience and wisdom to help navigate through the opportunities and challenges life presents us all.

Aimee Zheng

Client Service Assistant

Aimee joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in November 2021. She graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Marketing. As a member of the Quinn+Cardy Wealth Management Team, she approaches all aspects of the job with a positive and hard-working mindset. Aimee plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and providing clients with excellent client experiences. Her philosophy centers around what role she can play in helping others find solutions. 

In her spare time, Aimee enjoys spending time with her family and being a first-time aunt. She also enjoys baking, trying new foods, and traveling to new places.

Ethan Kuo-Lee, CFA

Client Service Associate

Ethan joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in November of 2021. He graduated from the University of Toronto with an undergraduate degree from Rotman Commerce, specializing in Finance and Economics. Ethan has a genuine enthusiasm for building long-term relationships and providing exceptional client experiences, underpinned by a solid finance background.

Outside of the office, Ethan enjoys personal fitness, competitive swimming, and live music events.

Kirsten Angus

Client Service Assistant

Kirsten joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in July of 2024. She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With a degree in Business Administration, she majored in Marketing with a focus in Non-Profit Leadership and Management. As the newest member of the Quinn+Cardy Wealth Management Team, Kirsten is passionate about building new and meaningful relationships with clients. With her previous experience in banking, she is well equipped to aid in the day-to-day administrative process. 

Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys reading, going to pilates, and exploring new restaurants.

James provides estate and insurance advice to high net worth clients though sophisticated, forward-thinking wealth management planning. James offers clients informed insight across the broad spectrum of wealth and estate planning issues, leveraging advanced market experience – more than 20 years of specialized tax, estate, and insurance expertise – and a unique understanding of the financial and emotional complexities of family wealth.

He works collaboratively with his colleagues to simplify the complexities associated with wealth and offering affluent families and entrepreneurs a uniquely personalized experience. Together, they aim to help clients realize their aspirations, at all stages of life, through meaningful conversations.

Gary Chung

Managing Director, BMO Mid-Market Mergers & Acquisitions Group

Gary is a Managing Director in the BMO Mid-Market Mergers & Acquisitions group, specializing in investment banking services for mid-market clients. He has been involved in numerous mergers & acquisitions and capital advisory transactions, including divestitures, acquisitions, private placements, and valuations. Gary has broad industry experience in financial services, food processing and business services. Prior to joining BMO's Corporate Finance Division, Gary spent five years working in BMO's Financial Strategy Group working on the Bank's strategic acquisitions and previously held positions as the primary M&A resource at both Aviva Canada and Maple Leaf Foods. In addition, Gary advised on various mid-market transactions while in the Corporate Finance / M&A practices at PwC and Deloitte.
Gary is a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant of Ontario), CFA charterholder (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CBV (Chartered Business Valuator) and has a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Richard Bellay

Richard Belley, CFA

Managing Director and Fixed Income Strategist

Richard has been involved with Fixed Income and Interest Rate Derivative markets for over 20 years including 7 years in direct sales and trading. Early in his career, Richard worked as an interest rate Futures and Options institutional representative for BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and then for an international bank advising national and international clients. This was followed by a 3-year period as a provincial and municipal trader for the Private Client Division of BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc.

In 2001, Richard participated in the launch of the newly created Portfolio Services Group within the Private Client Division to provide a low-cost alternative for management of fixed income portfolios for high net worth individuals and institutional clients. Richard has been actively managing fixed income portfolios for more than 10 years. He has been a CFA Charterholder since 1999 and is a registered portfolio manager.

David brings over 20 years of experience as a Trust and Estate Planner. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

David has worked extensively with our clients in the area of Estate, Will and Trust Planning, and is committed to providing his expertise by ensuring our clients have a capable executor that can fulfill their duties. When considering who to appoint as executor, he suggests looking for the following qualities: Knowledge, Accessibility, Fairness, Integrity, and Emotional stability.
