Lucas Tosoni, CFP®

Investment Advisor

Growing up, money issues were always front and centre in Lucas’s household.

There was never really a summer holiday.  Lucas was always working, either with his dad in construction and carpentry, or his uncle in a tire shop.

Until Lucas decided he would rather work on his studies.

So he could attend Laurentian University, he moved from Toronto to Sudbury with his future wife, who now works as a researcher for UHN.  Together they have two daughters, ages 11 and 14. The oldest is involved in musical theatre, and the youngest in recreational dance.

Entering the banking business 20 years ago, Lucas’s hard-earned work ethic drove him forward: from teller, to cold calling for an advisor, to working as an assistant branch manager – to joining Keith’s team as an investment advisor, where he focuses on wealth planning.

Lucas sees his role as untangling the complexity and stress that so many people feel about their money, regardless of their financial position.  He does it through a process of education.  As he puts it, “My younger years taught me all about stress around money, and how to alleviate it.  Often, until I show our clients their complete picture on paper, they don’t realize how well they have done in life, and that they can relax and enjoy themselves.”

With complexity evaporated, the client experience can actually take on a fundamental trait of the Mondesire Wealth brand:  fun. On his own time, fun for Lucas means indulging his soccer fandom in his longtime team, Juventus.  There is also the time he spends with his dog – a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

With his clients, the fun is in really getting to know them.  Lucas, a man who loves to cook and barbeque, and who has a smoker in his backyard, puts it this way: “A great thing about this job is that you get to meet a lot of people from all walks of life, and swap recipes.”
