Chris Clayton co-leads our team with Anna Dickson and has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Chris joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2010 and holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®) designations. He is also qualified as an Insurance Advisor with BMO Estate Insurance Advisory Services Inc. and earned a Bachelor of Management and Organization Studies degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Having worked well with Anna Dickson for many years and sharing her vision of how to serve clients and operate an advisory practice, Chris teamed up with Anna early in 2022 to create the Clayton Dickson Investment Group. This brought added value to our clients as the two of us share ideas, act as each other’s sounding boards, bring strength in numbers, and support each other’s clients during vacation periods.
Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, Chris was an Insurance Manager at Empire Life. He enjoys meeting with clients to guide them through his recommended account strategies and providing them and all their family members with tailored, personalized financial and investment advice.
Chris resides in Amherstview, just outside of Kingston, with his wife Amanda, son Mason and daughter Addison. He is a former competitive Ontario Hockey League hockey player who skated for Brampton and played varsity hockey for Western University. Chris now volunteers as a minor hockey coach with Loyalist Township and has served on the Investment Committee for the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area since 2017. His favourite pastimes include golfing, fishing and travelling.
Anna Dickson co-leads our team with Chris Clayton and has 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. After working for several years as a Branch Operations Manager and Assistant Branch Manager for BMO Private Wealth in Kingston, Brockville, Perth and Cornwall, Anna recognized the best part of her day was interacting with clients. She took on the challenge of a career change and became an Investment Advisor to offer families the flexibility, knowledge and guidance they need on their path to a successful financial future.

Sharla Vander Vliet joined Clayton Dickson Investment Group in October 2016 with over 10 years of experience providing client service and administrative support for a busy real estate team in Brockville. Sharla’s key role is ensuring excellent client service and assisting Anna Dickson to deliver the best possible client experience. Feel free to contact Sharla with any changes to your account information or other administrative and investment needs.
Sharla earned a diploma in Office Administration from St. Lawrence College and has completed the Canadian Securities (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) courses with the Canadian Securities Institute. She has also continued her professional development at BMO Private Wealth. Before joining BMO, she stick-handled administration and operations at Royal LePage ProAlliance Realty as their Client Care Coordinator for 11 years.
On a personal note, Sharla and her husband are devoted to their three wonderful children and travel at least twice a year (once with the kids, once without). They have lived in the Brockville area for more than 20 years. Boating is a huge part of their summer life – they participate in most of the poker runs along the St. Lawrence River in Kingston, Gananoque and Clayton, NY. Sharla finds working out to be a terrific mood and health booster and also loves spending time with family and friends and walking her two dogs – Ivy, a French bulldog and Buster, a Shiatzu Cocker Spaniel.
