Market Correction & Volatility
Blair Brace - Mar 17, 2025
Good afternoon,
I hope all is well with you and your family.
Earlier this week I recorded a video focused on the current market correction & volatility.
The key messages were that market corrections are a normal part of bull markets and that volatility, while uncomfortable at times, is the price of admission that we, as Investors, pay to Invest.
- recommend you save the following chart that I referenced in the video in a convenient place where you can easily access it. For me it helps to put 2025 into perspective. The next time you find yourself:
- getting caught up in all the negative headlines around Trump, tariffs, recession & the markets, or
- watching your portfolio frequently,
I recommend you reference the chart and keep the following in mind.
On average, the S&P 500 experiences:
- 3 corrections of 5% or more every year
- 1 correction of 10% or more every year
- 1 correction of 15%+ every two years
- The average maximum drawdown the S&P 500 is 14%+ per year.
If you have any questions or comments please reach out. I am watching things closely and we are here for you.
I’ll be in touch with more updates shortly.
Cheers
Blair
