Tim is the founder and co-principal of the Churchill-Smith Frangos Investment Team. He’s a stalwart figure in the wealth management industry and boasts a remarkable career spanning over four decades.

Tim began his professional journey at Nesbitt Thompson (BMO Nesbitt Burns’ precursor company) in 1982. He’s navigated the intricacies of all possible market conditions throughout his career, while also earning a reputation as an experienced and respected leader. Tim's guidance and knowledge has played a crucial role in shaping the careers of numerous Investment Advisors under his mentorship.

Tim’s unwavering commitment to clients is testament to his passion for wealth management. He serves a diverse clientele – ranging from seasoned investors to those taking their inaugural steps into the world of finance. Tim’s personalized approach has become the hallmark of the Churchill-Smith Frangos team’s business style. His mantra is that there’s no 'one-size fits all' approach to investing. He works tirelessly to understand the unique needs of each client and finds customized solutions to meet their goals.

Tim finds balance in the joys of family life. Alongside his spouse Deirdre, Tim is a proud parent to three daughters and a grandparent to two vibrant young boys. Tim and Dee enjoy golfing, playing bridge and making memories together with family at their lakeside vacation property in Quebec.

Steve Frangos, BA, FCSI®, CIM®, CIWM, PFP®

Investment Advisor

Steve co-leads the Churchill-Smith Frangos Investment Team alongside his business partner, Tim. His devotion to our client’s financial well-being is evident in his disciplined, thoughtful, and strategic approach to investing.

Prior to becoming an Investment Advisor, Steve was Vice-President of Operations with BMO Nesbitt Burns’ head office team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management & Economics from the University of Guelph, as well as numerous advanced certifications in Financial Services – including the Canadian Investment Management (CIM), Professional Financial Planner (PFP) and Chartered Strategic Wealth Professional (CSWP) designations. Steve’s credentials demonstrate his tenacity in staying at the forefront of our industry.

Steve has superior expertise in understanding the human side of wealth management. He utilizes retirement planning, insurance solutions and tax-effective strategies to ensure his client’s needs and aspirations are not just met, but exceeded. For Steve it's not just about the numbers; it’s about creating a holistic wealth plan that plays out over a lifetime.

Outside the office, Steve and his spouse Monika are adventurers at heart. They’re often found biking the trails of the Canadian Rockies or exploring along the coastal shores of British Columbia. Steve and Monika are proud parents to twin daughters. It's this balance of professional skill and a rich, family-centric personal life that makes Steve not just a Investment Advisor but a trusted partner in our clients' life journeys.

Steele Gibson, B.Eng.

Senior Investment Associate

Steele’s been a valued member of the Churchill-Smith Frangos Investment Team since 2018. Prior to this, he played a pivotal role implementing regional strategies and initiatives within the personal banking division of another financial institution.

Steele holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) degree from Western University. He’s completed the Canadian Securities and Wealth Management Essential courses and is licensed to practice with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization. Steele is responsible for executing investment strategies, conducting research, and supporting clients with transactions. His analytical mind, outgoing nature and kind-hearted approach to business is at the cornerstone of all his interactions.

Whether perfecting his golf swing, conquering the ski slopes, or engaging in a competitive game of pickleball, Steele approaches leisure with the same passion and determination he brings to his professional pursuits. He’s an enthusiastic sports fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Indianapolis Colts and Formula 1 racing. He also has a rich fantasy life coaching in the NFL.

Allyson Seeney, BA

Senior Investment Associate

Allyson (Ally) joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2015 following an accomplished career in provincial politics. In 2023 she transitioned to our team from a managerial role in our downtown Calgary branch. Drawing on her leadership experience, Ally brings a blend of strategic acumen and operational expertise to the Churchill-Smith Frangos Investment Team.

Ally has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Alberta. She’s licensed to practice with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization and is currently working towards her financial planning designation. Ally’s character is defined by a high degree of integrity, empathy, and a meticulous attention to detail. She has a reservoir of energy and constantly seeks innovative approaches to enhance our client’s service experience.

Personally, Ally is an avid gardener and steward for our environment. She currently serves on the Calgary Horticultural Society’s Board of Directors while also volunteering her time for many other charitable causes. Alongside her husband Mike, Ally upholds an active lifestyle of hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Ally is also passionate about the Arts. She can often be found enjoying the theatre, ballet, and opera – or working on her own creative projects.

Shannon Churchill-Smith

Client Service Assistant

Shannon returned to the Churchill-Smith Frangos Investment Team in 2023 after departing in 2018 to pursue a carer in nursing. We're thrilled that she's joined us once again! As our Client Service Assistant she helps with account maintenance, administration, and service requests.

Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University specializing in Neuroscience. She also obtained a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma from Bow Valley College in 2020. In her personal time, Shannon can be found exploring the outdoors with her Fiancé Dave and their beloved Corgi, Gus. She enjoys travelling to her family cottage in Quebec each year to relax in nature and unwind. Shannon is also an avid golfer and skier.
