With empathy and keen insight, Thalia thrives on collaborating with her team of talented financial experts to build solutions that help each individual client achieve their goals.
A passionate advocate for women, Thalia is a founding member and past Chair for the Calgary Chapter and current National Director of Programming for the International Women’s Forum Canada where she uses her influence to open doors for women in business. She has also been an active Rotarian for 15 years with the Rotary Club of Calgary, holding various roles within the organization including Program Committee Chair and Board Member of the Rotary Clubs of Calgary and Finance Committee Member and Board Member of the Rotary Clubs of Calgary Foundation.
Deeply competitive, both professionally and personally, Thalia has been selected for the BMO Nesbitt Burns President’s Council every year since 1994 and is an Alumni of the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
Mother to three and grandmother to six, Thalia enjoys fine motorcars, fashion, wine, and travel. Thalia is also a 7-time Boston Marathon finisher.
Cheryl Smith, MA, FMA, CIM

With an extensive background in accounting and financial services, Cheryl joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2003 where her genius for numbers met her passion for helping people.
As an Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, Cheryl is solution-oriented and thrives on helping clients achieve their financial goals through understanding the connection between today’s steps and the results that will follow in years to come.
Her methodical approach to financial planning encompasses helping clients define their retirement goals at the outset and creating detailed Retirement Plans and customized portfolios that are suitable for them to achieve their specific goals. She brings her clients full circle through estate planning, helping them define how they want their wealth handled and executing strategies so that their wishes for their estate are carried out.
Cheryl has a Certificate in Advanced Investment Advice, a Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation and a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, and a Masters of Arts in Theology from Briercrest Seminary.
While her best day includes creating beautiful portfolios or financial plans that demonstrate each clients’ personal financial goals being met, she also enjoys nature, going for walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Stacy Soutière is an Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, and Financial Planner at BMO Nesbitt Burns. With over a decade in the industry, she is highly empathetic to client needs and the importance of putting clients first.
Stacy believes financial literacy and solid investment skills are attainable by everyone and excels in collaborating with other experts to create effective financial solutions for all of life’s stages. Decidedly organized and supremely efficient, she’s always up for a challenge.
Stacy holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA, Smith School of Business, Queen’s University). In addition, she is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®, Canadian Securities Institute), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®, Financial Planning Standards Council), and a Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA, Family Enterprise Xchange). Stacy is currently a Doctor of Business Administration Candidate (DBA Candidate, Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary) with a target to complete in 2022.
In her down time, you’ll find her in the mountains—swimming, snowboarding, or tackling her next Tough Mudder Obstacle. She has a soft spot for all canines, but it’s her rescue dog, Wally Waffles, that rules her heart. After waiting years to be adopted, Wally is now her constant companion.
