Steve Wright

Senior Wealth Advisor

Steve is a Senior Wealth Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns and has been with the firm for more than 20 years.  A graduate of Queen's University in Economics, he worked abroad consulting for an international accounting firm prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns.
 
Steve is a Professional Financial Planner and is derivatives and options licensed.  When he is not meeting or speaking with clients, he spends much of his time listening to the institutional managers and watching money flows.  Steve lives in North Vancouver, has 2 kids and enjoys fishing whenever there is free time.
 

James Curran

Senior Wealth Associate

James Curran is the newest member of the Team.  Prior to joining, James worked as a Financial Planner with the Bank of Montreal for more than 5 years.  James complements the Team's expertise in relationship management, financial and investment planning.  He takes pride in the strong bond he has with clients and their families while helping them with tax minimization, preservation of capital, cash flow, and portfolio performance.  James loves what he does and enjoys helping clients with thier finances at every stage of their life.

Jennifer Tong

Senior Administration Associate

Jennifer is a Senior Administration Associate and has been with the Team for more than 15 years.  She knows each client by name and is a pleasure to deal with for all your administrative and financial needs.  She knows how to get things done at the bank and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to client tax forms required, RIF, RSP, TFSA and RESP rules.  Jennifer works with client accountants, lawyers and family members when necessary to make sure they receive information and/or documentation in a timely manner.  For those of you who already know our Team, you know who is really in charge and keeps the business so efficient.

Phil Haines, CPA, CA

Director, Tax Planning, BMO Wealth Planning

Phil assists high net worth individuals and families in structuring their personal and corporate affairs in a tax-efficient manner. Leveraging more than a decade of experience in the tax and assurance advisory space for private companies and their owners, Phil knows that his clients care about the “big picture” and how taxation factors into that from a practical perspective. His areas of expertise include owner-manager compensation, corporate reorganizations & divestitures, business succession, estate planning, charitable giving, and other related tax planning matters.

Suki Chahal

Senior Wealth Planning Consultant at BMO Private Wealth

As a member of the BMO High Net Worth Wealth Planning team, Suki brings together the knowledge and experience of our in-house tax and estate professionals and works with BMO financial professionals and their clients to develop sound wealth management plans. She provides support and direction around complex issues such as retirement and income planning, tax planning, cash management, business succession, transition planning, estate and gift planning, and charitable giving.
 
Experience and background
Suki is originally from the UK where she completed her BA (Hon.) degree in Public Administration
and Managerial Studies. She moved to British Columbia in the mid 90s and lives in Richmond with her husband, three sons and dog Alfie. Suki has over twenty years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to working with BMO, she worked at several major Canadian banks in banking, financial planning and insurance advisory roles.
 
Suki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the wealth planning role. She has the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS™) and Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC®) designations, and is working towards the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. Suki is also a former recipient of the Leslie Dunstall Award for BC.

Sue Noorloos

Director, Estate Planning, BMO Private Wealth

Sue advises high net worth individuals and families on specialized estate and trust solutions as part of an intregrated wealth planning team. She advises clients on their complex estate planning to help them understand the different strategies that they can use to preserve family relations and maximize their wealth.

Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, Sue gained invaluable experience at an Ontario law firm, where her practice focused on private client services including estate planning, trusts, wills and estate administration ranging from routine matters to complex multi-jursidictional estates. Sue previously worked with a large national trust company where she dealt with high net worth clients and advised them on their complex estate planning.

Jamie's objective is to review, analyze and provide insurance-based tax and estate planning strategies. Using a disciplined and professional approach, Jamie implements complementary concepts to a traditional investment portfolio. Specializing in providing solutions tailored for affluent investors, he offers customized strategies for individuals, as well as privately owned Canadian corporations and shareholders.
