Stephen has been advising in the investment industry for 15 years. He focuses on our client’s financial goals and making timely investment decisions. Stephen holds the industry’s most distinguished designation: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional and the Chartered Investment Manager designation.

He is married to Rebecca, who is a Registered Nurse. They are proud parents of their four beautiful daughters McKenna, Emmerson, Isla and Claire. Stephen's interests include: being with his family, mountaineering, skiing and hard work. Stephen is an active member of his church, and has an active leadership role in several local organizations.

Nathan Johnson, CFP, CFA, BA

Associate Portfolio Manager

Nathan joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2021 and enjoys helping clients reach their investment and financial goals. He seeks to genuinely understanding every client’s unique needs and strives to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Previously, Nathan worked at an independent investment firm for 6 years. He also worked at Husky Energy in their treasury department assisting in the company’s cash and hedging needs. Nathan learned from a young age about compound interest and the difference between paying it and earning it. This caught his attention and spurred his desire to learn all he could about investing and financial planning. Nathan is a CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST™ and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

Nathan is married to Kimberly and they have four beautiful children. They love making family memories while biking, camping, and skiing. They like to keep their family busy and are actively involved in their church organization.

Katie McLeod, BBA

Sr. Associate

Katie has been with BMO Nesbitt Burns since 2013, where she has helped the team excel by executing her skill of providing excellent client care. Katie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double focus in Marketing and Management. Her friendly, outgoing personality is an asset to the team and admired by her colleagues. Katie grew up on the West Coast of British Columbia and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and considers herself an up and coming gourmande!

Katie and her husband Tyler welcomed a daughter in 2021, and are enjoying the first stages of parenthood together. 

Lenore Brewer

Client Service Assistant

Lenore joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2018 following a 13 year career as a nurse and a previous 5 year career in the banking industry.  After choosing to stay home for a few years to raise her two daughters, she made the decision to return to a career in the personal financial services industry where she feels her interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills are best utilized. Lenore has a passion for interior design, health & wellness, cheering for the Calgary Flames & Stampeders, and spending time with her family. 

Marley Videira

After having worked with BMO Retail banking for two years, Marley joined our BMO Nesbitt Burns team in 2021 where she enjoys building strong client relationships using her personal and organizational skills. Marley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Financial Services. 
Born and raised in Calgary she loves so much about her city so when she is not working Marley enjoys spending time with family, traveling to new places and testing her skills in the kitchen.

Shawna Albornoz, MTI, TEP

Vice President of Trust Services, BMO Trust Company

Shawna Albornoz is the Vice President of Trust Services (Prairies) with BMO Trust Company, the fiduciary arm of the BMO Financial Group. Shawna has been in the Estate and Trust Industry since 2001 and she has administered over 130 Estate, Trust, Power of Attorney, and charitable foundation accounts during her career.
 
Through her experience as a corporate Executor and Trustee for high net worth clients, she has acquired the expertise to help families effectively plan for the transfer of wealth to the next generation and deal with all fiduciary responsibilities. Shawna holds her MTI designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, she is a member of The Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP), an international professional organization dedicated to promoting financial and estate planning considerations between generations and is a member of the Calgary Estate Planning Council (EPC).

Senior Estate & Insurance Advisor, BMO Estate Insurance Advisory Services

Sarah graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce, with a focus on Finance and Risk Management. She joined the financial industry in 2006 and been helping with high net worth families achieve their goals ever since. She assists high net worth families with complex affairs, to preserve, grow and transition their wealth to future generations. 

Sarah has enjoyed a very successful and impressive career to date, being a leading professional consultant in the insurance industry for major financial services firms. With over 12 years of experience in the Wealth Management industry, Sarah believe in long term, trusting relationships and works closely with advisors and their clients to provide customized solutions and strategies to meet their assets, and growing their estate. She provides each advisor, and their clients, with professional customer service and efficient timelines. Sarah is able to provide advice on Life Insurance, Critical Illness, Disability and Long Term Care.

An avid cyclist and skier, Sarah brings that same discipline and commitment to a variety of community and personal causes. Having biked across Canada twice for Kids Cancer, it is evident she is dedicated and determined at whatever she puts her mind to.

Kimiko Comeau, CFA

Director, Business Advisory & Succession Planning

Kimiko is part of the Business Advisory & Succession Planning team, which provides high net worth business owners in transition with a sophisticated, forward-thinking wealth management plan. She works with individuals and business owners in the areas of business succession, transition, sale, mergers & acquisitions, and valuations for the purposes of wealth planning and transfer. Kimiko is an experienced business advisor who brings more than 10 years of technical and business planning expertise to BMO Wealth Management.

Kimiko joined BMO Wealth Management in 2018 after more than a decade as a mid-market M&A advisor at a Big 4 professional services firm. With a focus on sell-side advisory services for private Alberta-based companies, Kimiko has worked with companies in a range of industries including oil and gas services, manufacturing, distribution and construction. Kimiko has advised on complex transactions including sales to financial and strategic buyers, management buyouts, and shareholder disputes.

Lisa Kayaga, LL.B, LL.M, TEP

Director, Will & Estate Planning

Lisa is part of the High Net Worth specialists team and she advises high net worth clients on their complex estate planning to help them understand the different strategies that they can use to preserve family relations and maximize their wealth. Having practiced law in Ontario and Alberta, clients benefit from her extensive experience with will, estates, trust and incapacity issues. Using her strong interpersonal skills, she is able to simplify complex estate matters for clients so that they have the confidence to instruct their trusted professionals to set up their estate plans.

Prior to joining BMO Wealth Management, Lisa was with a national trust company where she dealt with High Net Worth clients and advised them on their complex estate planning. Earlier in her career she practiced law in Ottawa, Ontario. Her practice was focused on private client services including estate planning, wills, trusts and estate administration ranging from routine matters to complex multi-jurisdictional estates.

As a wealth planning specialist, Tanya works with relationship managers, investment counsellors, bankers, planners, and clients who are looking for expertise and guidance in managing their wealth. Tanya provides comprehensive financial planning advice and customized solutions in areas such as cash flow, retirement planning, tax planning, risk management, and estate planning. Tanya helps clients understand and simplify their wealth complexities to help them make better financial decisions.

 

In 1997 Tanya began working for a major Canadian Bank where she completed her Canadian Securities Course in 1998. She joined BMO Financial Group in 2000 as a Financial Planner and then in 2014 she moved to BMO Private Banking as a Wealth Planner.
 
Using a holistic approach, Tanya collaborates with her colleagues in BMO Wealth Management to help clients clearly articulate their personal wealth goals. Together, we provide a multi-dimensional perspective that offers a valuable complement to our clients’ other professional counsel. Tanya goal, as part of the BMO Wealth Planning team, is to empower clients with comprehensive and customized solutions, resolving complex situations through coordinated and proactive wealth plans.
