All of our new client relationships involve a fact finding interview, and sometimes more than one meeting is required. These meetings also occur for existing clients and are called a "re-fact" if it has been a while since we have completed a holistic review, or there has been a major life event.

As a client, after developing an understanding of your needs and wants, tolerance for risk and ability to comfortably manage through difficult market events, your investment objectives are identified and an investment strategy begins to take shape. At the same time, planning opportunities identified are being worked on, and our team utilizes our estate, legal, banking, tax and insurance professionals from within BMO Private Wealth (BMO Nesbitt Burns, BMO Private Wealth and BMO Trust Company). Ongoing development and implementation of required and desired plans occur as needed over the life of the relationship.

 

 


 

Client Communications and Service

 

Communication is important to everyone’s success! We stay connected in various ways:

1) Email / Newsletter Communication: Key to my teams communication commitment, is to be relevant and timely.

When appropriate, personally written emails and newsletters are sent to be sure clients are kept informed on key events that may impact them. As well, at various times of the year we provide educational email updates on specific topics of interest (i.e. Estate & Will Planning or Tax Planning).

For clients with discretionary portfolio management services, custom portfolio newsletters are also provided  throughout the year to keep informed on the investment strategy.

 

2) Semi-annual, face to face meetings are standard, with flexibility on meeting frequency to fit with your needs.

Meeting frequency can change (increase temporary) when planning such as cash flow management, retirement, and Will & Estate planning are needed. Appointments are available on demand, but our team has a pre-set client contact and meeting plan that allows for consistent and well prepared meetings.

 

3) Access to anyone on the team by phone is simple at any time during the workday.

You should have no problem being able to reach a member of the team the same day. Email is also an option and are responded to promptly.

 

 

4) Detailed information about fees and performance is explained at each review.

 

 

 

5) We work with your Accounting Professional to provide tax reporting packages and communicate with them during tax season to be sure your tax filing goes smooth!
