Our Team

Kent Cookman has been creating financial plans and providing advice on economic, investment, and portfolio considerations for over 30 years. 

Kent is a graduate of the Concordia College of Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and History while on scholarship.

Outside of the office, Kent is an avid fisherman who dedicates his time to family and the community through local charities and supporting youth sports.

Dave has worked in the investment industry for over 25 years and joined Cookman & Associates in 2013. Dave earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Manitoba.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys playing music and performing with his local band, Celtic Chaos. Dave is married with four grown children and two granddaughters.

Tammy has worked at BMO Nesbitt Burns since 1996 and is a central team member for all account related matters including maintenance, inquiries, and updates. Tammy is available to process any requests which clients may have, while ensuring your investment experience with Cookman & Associates is trouble free!

Tammy enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, and is very passionate about horticulture as a member of the Master Gardeners Association.

Hannah has worked within the financial industry for over 5 years. Before joining Cookman & Associates in mid 2021, Hannah began her career as a Personal Banking Associate at BMO Bank of Montreal. She earned her Bachelor of Business degree from Vancouver Island University and has completed her Canadian Securities Course. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys soaking up the sun, caring for her rare tropical house plants and her two cats.

Ben Slang has 8 years of experience in client facing roles, most recently as a Membership Representative for a non-profit working to scale and support Canadian businesses. Ben has earned an MBA at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS and a BBA at Camosun College in Victoria, BC. Before joining the BMO Nesbitt Burns Team, he completed the Canadian Securities Course. Away from the office, Ben is passionate about skiing, mountain biking, and taking advantage of the beautiful Vancouver Island outdoors.
