Margaret Nix

Senior Client Service Associate

Her first car, bought with the help of a high-interest loan, didn’t really cost $14,000.

Growing up, she was not given much in the way of financial education.  The car episode was a tough lesson that resonated so deeply with Margaret that she has spent the years since accumulating wealth management wisdom and paying it forward.

Her financial services career began at a national wealth management firm, in the mailroom.
“I was hooked,” she says. “It is a special group of people that work in this industry.  There was so much to learn, to apply to my own life and help others.”

Arriving at BMO Nesbitt Burns, she worked with an investment advisor in Pickering – which is when she met Keith in 2010.  “It is one of the best things that ever happened to me,” says Margaret. “Because I love our team.  They are so great at their jobs because they love their jobs just like I do.”

Of the Mondesire Wealth brand elements, it is the promise – Really meaningful moments™ – that means the most to Margaret.  She notes that Keith and Lucas want every moment of every meeting to be meaningful for the client – that their number one priority is to connect with clients by meeting their needs and ensuring they are happy.

“Our clients truly love that they are part of our family.”

Family?

“Work is my second home,” Margaret says.  “Family is how it feels.”

Born and raised in Toronto, Margaret moved to Oshawa in 1985 and has been there ever since. Her beloved Golden Doodle is named Tica, which is Spanish slang for “dear girl,” inspired by Margaret’s love of Costa Rica.  Margaret’s dream is to spend summers in Newfoundland, which she did as a child visiting her father’s hometown and family, and winters in CR.

“It is very important that we spent our summers in Newfoundland,” she says, although she cannot explain why.  “It is just in my soul and in my heart.”
